I would say that you are 18 and it shouldn't be a problem...legally or by what others say as long as you can deal with how friends and family think. Your parents may be an issue if you still live with them. Just be careful that you are both in it for the same thing and are on the same wavelength. Dating I don't think is a problem, but once and if it gets serious, then you will both probably have to sit down and have a discussion about what you both want out of life and from each other (marriage? Kids? Career?) Keep in mind he is probably well established in his career, job, and even his way of life, and in many ways you are just starting out, and you'll have to be ready for the generational as well as lifestyle differences between you. Didn't mention if he had kids; are they older? He could have a child your age (if he had one at 18.) Are you ready for that? Just one of the many issues and bridges you may have to cross. If you're ok with all of the above, then best of luck to you both...

Hi. nice question. let's see, both of you are adults. no problem there. finding a really nice guy is great. Older guys sometimes can have more maturity than an 18 yr old boy.

but they can also have more baggage.
why not take it slow. you can find out if there is more than maturity in the bargain. on his end, dating an 18 is a feather in his cap, but maybe you have some things to go through that he's already be through.

have fun, but take it slow, tell him clearly, lets see how things go , if it ain't working out, tell him good bye.

best of luck,

frankie c.

Not in my house! My daughter tried to date someone who was 34 when she was 18. I would not allow it as long as she was under my roof. He found another girl 18 and she ended up pregnant. Then he took off and no one has seen him around.

Wait until you are about 24 before you think about older men like that. There is way too big a difference in maturity there.

Of course you can. You are 18. There's nothing wrong with it as long as he's sincere and acutally likes you. You probably are very mature that's why he's interested, it's a great compliment.

that is a big age difference, and yes he can be ur father. older guys are wayyy awesome, but dont u think it is kinda weird? maybe a couple years age difference is aiight, but him being TWICE your age?? ew. but if you really do feel for him, then just be okay friends. dont get too close too soon. and watch out for how he acts.

Don't date him just for the sake of dating! The level of maturity just isn't there...Wait and you will find someone your age to date but in time...

You are old enough to make your own choices, it you like him and he treats you well. Then it is fine, if you like him and he likes you who cares what other people may think Good luck and God bless

sure...just don't let him manipulate you...older men are good for that especially if you never been with a man that old before and because of your age
