An excess intake of air causes gas which in turn causes burps and flatulence (aka farts). When eating, try to minimize the amount of excessive air (excessive talking and laughing).

Foods such as broccoli, eggplants, cabbage, onions, amongst other things, also cause gas. You can try staying away from those.

If you actually want to take something that helps with gas, try Beno. It helps with gas... burps and farts included... lol

You know, it's fun to burp. Just try burping a little more quietly.

Buuuuurrrrrrrrrrp... heeheehee

My ability to burp louder than beer drinking men is a talent I have perfected. I eat really fast so I always burp loud after I eat. I figure if you're around people who don't like it as long as you make an effort to keep it down and always say excuse me afterwards it should be fine. I hope your mom can accept that, since it is the proper thing to do.

Tell your mom that it's not healthy to suppress your burps. That's like holding in your fart: definitely not healthy.

Try eating slower, so you don't swallow so much air.
