You don't say what age you are.....this does have a baring on meeting men.

I don't honestly think that you meet "decent" men in nightclubs, work is a possibility but often they are geeky - do you have any friends with half decent Brothers?

Taking up an evening class - especially sporty ones is a good source.

If all else fails why not go to an event like "Chemistry" - hopefully everyone is going for the same reason so it should not be a waste of time.

Other than that if you fancy being brave you could try the pages of The Evening Standard - they have adverts from people looking for love - I know two people that have met their Boyfriends that way.

One word of warning if you go down this route - always meet in a crowded place and make sure you tell someone where you are going/what time you expect to be back.

Good luck in your search for Mr Right!

Michelle, You have found a decent man right here. Trouble is that I am already taken by my girlfriend in N.Y. But trust me, there are a lot more of us out there. You really just can't go out and find one. This is something that will have to happen. Personallly, I found mine on-line. But I will have to say that I have met many, many, different ladies before I found this one, and she is the one. It is not just decent men that are hard to find.

Didn't know you could use the words 'decent' and 'man' in the same sentence together!!
I think they're a myth of some kind, probably get close to it in a couple of childrens fairytale storey books.

Just don't appear too intimidating, a lot of men are put off now because of the independent woman culture that doesn't mind making a man feel stupid or worthless by asking her out.

It's ok to not be interested, just don't make him feel bad... otherwise no guy will ever approach any woman.

When you figure it out, can you let me know as well! :D I agree with everyone else that it is one of those things that just happen. And from what I am told, when it does happen, you forget all of your awful baggage and the world seems promising. At the end of the day, that's what keeps me motivated to keep dating.

My mum would say , that all the good men died in the war. I must say after the few men I have met over the years. I think she was probably right.
