How is communicative time travel possible?

If time travel is possible, surely its going backwards very fast, and catching up with images so to speak that have happened, i.e like a movie. To communicate with people, or to be in the time you choose to go back to would be immposible, for example if you went back to 1800, everyone would be dead, how could it be possible?

It is not possible and never will be.

I suggest you read Michael Crichton's "Timeline".

He makes the theory of time travel quite clear.
