The Catholic Church as with all other religions believe that copulating is to be used for reproduction and not carnal fun as most people believe. Condoms are the wrong colour for Africans, and would frighten young maidens. :-)

<> for a similar reason the Church discourages condom use everywhere. intercourse is Sacred; the consumation of the marital union. that's the reason it is going to only be shared between a husband and spouse. intercourse is likewise meant to be an act of entire self-GIVING of one better half to the different. this means the intercourse might desire to stay open to the opportunity of existence. while condoms are used, the act will become below entire self-giving. additionally, you're overlooking the reality that folk do not might desire to have intercourse. they might pick to abstain. In places like Africa, the place AIDS is rampant, the Church encourages people to abstain from intercourse. Abstinence from intercourse is a hundred% particular to ward off the unfold of AIDS. what's that next to condoms which bests at 70%? logic on my own recommend the terrific direction of action is abstinence except the two husband and spouse be attentive to neither will infect the different. <> The Church encourages abstinence is worldwide places which at the instant are not ravaged via epidemics. Te Church encourages abstinence is rich worldwide places as nicely. Does this not recommend that there is a few thing better being seen here than the way you spot it? <> intercourse isn't meant to be shared only between great rich spouses. that is for ALL married couples, rich or destructive.

The Catholic Church is consistent worldwide with its teaching.

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).
3. Married couples should welcome God's gift of children and, therefore, artificial birth control was against the will of God.

If the world is going to ignore teachings about chastity (1 & 2), then why is the world so upset about teaching artificial birth control (3)?

People who are already ignoring the more important teachings about chastity (1 and 2) should have no problem ignoring the less important teaching of artificial birth control (3).

Even if an infected person was to use a condom to help protect his or her spouse, condoms are not 100% effective (read the box) and the spouse may be infected and die anyway. A person who truly loves their spouse would not endanger them in this way.

With love in Christ.

The Catholic Church discourages the use of condemns, including all other forms of artificial birth control, everywhere, not just in Africa.

Reason being, it interferer's with the natural order of the procreation of the species. That means something because God did not only create the human race, He created nature - and the mechanics of nature as well.

There are natural forms of birth control that the Catholic Church indeed does encourage. Among them, yes, abstinence. Abstinence is 100% guaranteed to work. Logically speaking, why settle for another form of birth control, especially an artificial one, that does not come with a 100% guarantee.

It seems to me that you are trying to have your cake -sex - and eat it too - prevent the conception of human beings. Again, you overlook the fact that the Catholic Church encourages natural birth control, including abstinence everywhere, not just Africa.

Your prognosis of Catholic policy as "evil" is grossly misguided.

This isn't an Africa-specific statement the Church makes, it is Church Doctrine. There are other ways to solve this problem. What is wrong with preaching abstention?

The catholic church is against both premarital sex and any form of contraception. That is the religion and it's belief system. If you don't agree with it, that's fine. But if the diseased people in Africa would stop having premarital sex then the AIDS problem would dissipate and vanish.

What's so evil about that? Is the Catholic Church supposed to change it's entire belief system because YOU don't like it?

The church is universal. Its beleifs are applied everywhere. It doesnt pick and choose who has to follow what. You follow all of it, all the time. Contraception ignores the purpose of the sexualy act. Therefore we will never stand for it. No matter what. If the people are married then thye should be having children. If there not married then they should not be having sex.

The HIV virus is tinier than the molecules of the condom so it really does not stop the virus. This is pushed by proponents of Planned Parenthood who would like to make people think that the population is out of control, especially in these poor areas when really they just do not like poor people and it's the almighty dollar that controls their policy.

Honestly are you stating that given the choice of no sex and living or sex and certain death for you or your child, would'nt you be able to control your sexual drive?

I am human and I would give up sex if it meant those very things that are going on in Africa. I am not saying I would like it, but I certainly would give it up.

I am not a Catholic by any means, but when it comes to choices, there are many people who have had to give up sex for many different reasons, and they can and do.

St. Paul condemned any form of sexuality that did not lead to childbirth, that is one of the tenants on which Christianity was founded, and is the source of the ban on both contraception and on homosexuality by non-clergy. For the record, one of the largest manufacturers of condoms in Europe is owned by the Vatican.
