Actually we do know exactly how the world will end.
In a few billion years the Sun will shift from main sequence hydrogen burning stage and move to a helium burning stage.
During this process the Sun will expand greatly and almost occupy our orbital path around the sun.
When this happens, the Earth will be baked, fried and scrambled.
Everything gone.

Actually, the world does not end at the battle of Armageddon. Jesus comes back to Earth and rules for 1,000 years. After that Satan is loosed 'for awhile'.
But, most people think of the end of the world as when Jesus comes back and sets foot of the Mount of Olives. What happens to you personally is dependent upon what you do with Jesus.

When the believers in Christ are caught up in the air, mass chaos will ensue. The anti-Christ will establish power for approximately 7 years. Christ will return for the battle of Armageddon and banish the anti-Christ to the Pit. Then Jesus will reign for 1000 years. After that Satan will be loosed for a short season to tempt the people of Earth, then he will be banished into the Lake of Fire for all of eternity!

no one knows, but the "signs of the times" are among us...terrorism, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc.
