That depends upon the bathtub. Most will float in calm waters. There is an instance reported of two teens floating a bathtub across a river in Great Britain. When a storm picked and water was coming in over the sides of the tub, one of the two decided that pulling the plug was a good way to let the water out. It then sank. They are not meant for floating. Rough waters will sink them quickly.
