For me, i cause my own lonliness by isolation. I withdraw and push others away without realizing it at the time or I just choose not to interact with people due to depression, poor self image, or the like.

My cause of lonliness as it turns out was due to the fact that I didn't really like me very much and too,I thought people would think me worthless if I didn't have a man in my life.
Today I like myself and what I stand for and who I am and I understand that I can be a wonderful person with or without a man in my life.
I get lonely once in a while,that is wanting to have someone to talk to besides my dogs and my grandchildren to talk to when I am not at work and all I do is get up off my tush and go to my local hang out and visit.
Life is really pretty good today.

Well u will start to feel like u might want to harm ue body in anyway and plz do not do that. If feel then need to make a step and do that before u do it call someone and talk to them then think about it. In that case u would need to go see a councilor or something because loneliness can be very dangerous!

I guess for me too it's poor self image..but now i c i m not alone....
Actually, i guess that's y i m here on Yahoo Answers..someone is listening to my opinions on things & reasponding back to me.
My loneliness is also caused by not having any female friends..man friends r fine, but I do miss "girl talk" but most of my friends r married or have children, so i m trying to do those things too, then i'll have friends right??

I still think I am trying to find myself at times. Just when I think I have got my own self figured out.

Four years ago when my husband died, I was lonely, but life moves on...I met a wonderful man and have been happy again since.!!

well i am not lonely but loneliness is caused by having no one to talk to, having no family or friends there for you.
