Since ignorance is not knowing something, when you can't figure something out, you are ignorant about it. What you, and most people, don't understand is that the word God means that which we don't know. As soon as something which had been attributed to God is figured out, it's no longer god. Example, thunder use to be explained as god, but now we know what it is, so we don't call it god anymore. Since god means the unknown, and since there will always be things we don't know, god exists by definition. Invisible dinosaurs don't cause earthquakes, earthquakes are caused by plate plate tectonics.

That's where 'faith' comes in - believing in - the unseen, the unexplained. There are so many lifes' miseries that cannot be explained either due to limited human knowledge pertaining to the subject OR on the other hand, adverse effects/repercussions from knowing too much about the subject.
There is such a thing as KNOWING TOO MUCH. The more knowledge you have, the more puzzles you try to unravel, which is a never-ending process. Suffering in the world began in the garden of Eden as a result of human quest for knowledge. Adam and Eve, though, wished they never knew they were naked but it was too late!

I don't take the "unexplained" as proof that God exists. For you to believe He doesn't takes far more unexplainable questions & faith than I'll ever have.
Ask yourself why this bothers you soooo much. I know it's due to the spiritual battle going on inside you, do you?

It's not always what we can't explain, but often what we "know" to be true. It's a "feel" thing with me.
I had a very specific experience, regarding the death of a friend. I knew that I was in the presence of something very certain, very unworldly that was also very gentle. I'm sure that this was God and was very helpful in my acceptance of this event.
I know that many make reference to the "cause it says so" routine. It's because they're probably void of any true questioning of self to make themselves aware of the realities of this world. I'm sure that God is a reality. He's proved it to me multiple times.
I do like the invisible dinosaur quote, though. Very funny, indeed.
Hope all is well. Take care.

Not everyone who believes in a God use the "unexplained" as proof of God

Belief in God is a matter of faith not proof. We don't claim there is empirical evidence, clearly there is not, nor do we need any. What you say and believe, and how you act, are up to you, that is what "free will" means. What is truly ignorant is to make ill thought out generalizations like saying "you" and assuming that everyone, of every faith, throughout the history of mankind, has identical beliefs and attitudes.

I believe in God, but I hardly think anything that is unexplainable is proof of His existance. I don't need proof to believe, but then I don't really care if others don't.....if ya want to believe in invisible dinosaurs, then it's all good. ;o)

Sorry you feel the way you feel. That is your opinion and what makes the world go 'round'. If there is any chance of Heaven and Hell, I sure know where I am going to be. Religion and Politics are really good subjects to avoid. There are so many different opinions and that is what makes America such a great place. We have the freedom to express how we feel. Where you end up in eternity is your choice.

And the flea said "There is no dog." It's true, that it takes a lot of faith to believe that there is no God. But fellow Christian, take heart. All the atheist has to do is prove the Universal Negative, to wit: Has the atheist searched the universe to prove conclusively that there is no God? Remember, the atheist would have to be quick, because while he looking in, say , Alpha Centauri, God can scoot to the Andromeda galaxy!
