I used to have a small rose on each breast, but now I have hanging baskets. Seriously, it sounds like a very interesting project. Do you know the history of piercing? Legend says sailors had a gold hoop in their ear so if they died at sea, their families would sell the gold to pay for the burial. Tattooing has an even richer history dating as far back as the Ming Dynasty. However people want to express themselves thru this type of thing, more power to them.

I don't really care whether someone is tattooed/pierced or not. But I have a tattoo (more to come), and a nose piercing. So who am I to judge someone based on what they've done to their body? What they've had done affects me in no way whatsoever. I love looking at other people's artwork, I'm always curious about it. It kind of gives you an idea of what that person is about. I also think tattoos and piercings are sexy, in moderation. That guy that's tattooed like a leopard or whatever is a little too much lol. Although many places don't allow visible tattoos and piercings, times are changing. I've been in a bank and saw tellers with nose piercings. I work in an office, and I am allowed to wear skirts, which shows the tattoo on my ankle. And there are many people on here with many tattoos that are professionals. So people are coming around. I think within the next 20 years, it won't matter, because so many people of my generation (I'm 22) have piercings and tattoos, so we accept it, and we will be the majority of the workforce.

Tattoos are a work of art. I have two of them and I like them very much. It's all up to the person. As for piercings, I have had my ears pierced since I was 8 yrs old. I like piercings to, only in the ears and nose. The rest of the piercing has to go, tongue, private area, if you know what I mean LOL. Oh and the belly button piercing isn't bad either, looks nice on the right person.

I think that tattoos are a very personal, very beautiful form of expression. They have been around for centuries, so all these people calling them a "fad" are wrong. People will still be getting tattooed a hundred years from now. I have a few works in progress in the tattoo department, and 15 piercings. I love every one of them and cant wait to get more.

I have 4 tattoos and now 25 piercings. I love all of them and its a huge part of me. It shows a lot about my personality and who I am. I'm not afraid or worried about decorating my body. And as a piercer, I love having the chance to pierce people.
I think as long as you make the right choice for a tattoo and take care of your body when you get mods, then there is nothing wrong with them.

I wouldn't say tatts and piercings have a "good" or "evil"side. There are pros and cons. I have 5 tatts, I had my belly button pierced and my ears gaged to an 8. My belly button ring ripped when I started doing yoga, and I got tired of gaged earrings. I'm a mom now and I don't have a problem with tatts, my husband is covered. Some people see people with tatts as 'stupid' or 'trashy' but they are just a statement of a moment in someones life. All of my tatts have meaning for me, and I don't care what others think. I am in the process of becoming a minister, and some people can be bigots about it. I know alot of wonderful preachers that are covered in tatts. But, society as a whole sees people with piercings and tattoos as folks who sleep all day, booze it up at night and are the 'underworld' type people.

I think tatoos and piercings are ok. I have 2 tats and my ears pierced 4 times and 1 in the upper ear lobe. Nothing wrong with it. It's a personal decision. I do think some ppl go a little overboard but like I said, it's a personal choice. Just hope those ppl with all the metal sticking out of their faces don't get to close to any super strong magnets LOL j/k

I have two tattoos. I researched their meanings- both to me personally, and linguistically/historically. I designed both a full three years prior to getting them done. I am extremely pleased with my tattoos, and I will be proud to explain them to my children and grandchildren. I have two more tattoos designed, but I want to wait a year or two more to make sure I won't tire of the images. As for piercings, I have a few of those as well, but I feel less strongly about them. They're easily removable, and therefore seem like less of a decision to me. I hope this helps your project.

I have two tattoos. I did have my belly button pierced, but it healed when I got pregnant. I plan on redoing that, getting at least 4 more tattoos, I have three piercings in one ear, and 4 in the other. I plan on getting my nose or eyebrow done, maybe my lip. Maybe my tongue, and maybe my nipple(s). I don't see anything wrong with it, as long as the tattoos you get mean something to you.

Honestly i think its just depends on what kind of tattoos you get or what kind of piercings you get because you do not want to regret it in like 20 years or so seriously
