I know my spiritual gift is prophecy. This past year, I have really felt the weight of carrying this anointing. I have dreams about things before they happen and a lot of times I feel troubled long after I wake up from the dream. I don't always know the meaning of the dreams right away. Sometimes I feel bad about complaining because it is a gift. I'm interested in hearing the experiences of people with all spiritual gifts, but especially people with the gift of prophecy.

People do have dreams about things before they happen. I have been experiencing this since 2002. I try to resist when someone tries to make me "prove" it. Of course Jesus is most important, but the prophetic anointing was not just for biblical times. I also do not think it is something to brag about. You don't know what someone has to go through in order to carry ANY anointing.

Are you talking about "foretelling' or "forthtelling"? The Bible makes it abundantly clear that foretelling is witchcraft, so I guess it's forthtelling, or giving a word according to the Word of God, which is The Holy Bible. But it's not a revelation by God, because whatever is/was revealed is only contained in Sacred Scripture. It is a part of discernment, which means that you are pretty good at piecing things together. For example, "Mary --- a little ----. Of course, it reads "Mary has a little lamb." You picking up little informational piece of someone's observable life enables you to forthtell a person's next step, event, etc. But remember, spiritual gifting is not the point. It's Jesus!

Everyone has dreams they don't understand and the misunderstood dream can be interpreted many ways. Is it prophecy? No! More than likely it is merely a piece of undigested food.

Do not preach it. God's prophecies will unfold without your help. If you truly have this gift, preach. Preach messages to keep the bad from happening. Stay humble.
