I have a problem. It's probably not a big deal, but it bothers me.
I went to the drug store yesterday to have 2 prescriptions transferred. The young woman (a pharmacy tech) took my scripts and said she would give them to the pharmacist. I said I would come back in an hour. She said o.k.

When I came back, the tech was helping an elderly client. I sat in the waiting area so as not to overhear their conversation. When the tech was done, she waited on a customer at the drive-in and then another at the counter.

When the client at the counter left, I asked if my presciptions were ready. She said "Not yet," and proceeded to wait on another customer with me still standing there. I wanted to know when I should come back. But, she wouldn't even acknowledge that I was standing at the counter!

I went home and came back later for the prescriptions.

All I wanted to know was when I should come back. I didn't need for her to process my order right away.

Invisible? Overreacting? Too sensitive?

I worked in a VERY busy pharmacy for years and know exaclty what your talking about. The tech should have acknowledged you more than she did and not brush you off so fast when she did actually acknowledge you.

She could have just been overwhelemed from being so busy and didn't realize she was being so rude to you or she was avoiding you because she probably thought you were standing at the counter ready to rip her a new one for the prescription not being ready. The tech was probably overwhelemed, but that's no excuse for you to be treated as such...whether you planned to complain or just ask when you should come back again.

Don't take it personally but understand you should have gotten MUCH better service.

Pharmacies can get very busy. There's a shortage of pharmacists, and it's been hard coping. If time is an issue, talk with the pharmacist. The pharmacist can push the prescription through, not the tech.
I admit the pharm tech was not the most helpful. Also, if you are just sitting in the waiting area, she might not have known that you were there to pick up a prescription. Some people like to sit there.

Absolutely rude tech! You should talk with her supervisor and let them know how you were treated. If she's not willing to answer a simple question for you then she may not be taking the time to answer more important questions!

As someone in the medical field and who's worked customer service in the past, I understand how annoying answering the same ol' question day in and day out can be but you have to remind yourself that it's the first time for the person asking the question... or head them off at the pass and try to answer the question before it's asked!

I wonder what she would have done if you said, "Hello!, I 'm standing here!" Will you answer my questions please?

Let the manager know your displeasure. If you don't want to do that, you can always e-mail the pharmacy and let them know how you were treated.

There is no excuse to ignore someone. She may have been busy, but it only takes a minute to answer a question. It's common courtesy.

Don't let people walk all over you. Stand up for yourself.

Some people are rude that way, but maybe she/he really didn't see you. Sometimes when I'm in deep thought, I zone other people out. It's not intentional, but still deserves an apology. It's kinda like sittin at a red light while traffic is waiting behind you. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Don't sweat the small stuff!!! Be selective-Choose your battles.....

Sounds like she was really busy, but she should have taken the time to find out and let you know. It's just good business to be polite to your customers. I used to do her exact job and it only takes a minute to ask the pharmacist and relay the answer to the customer.

Forget her.....you should complain to the manager just so next time they know how to treat their customers and don't go back to that pharmacy look for a pharmacy that has a better service then that one...

I think the pharmisist was rude. Even if your perscriptions werent ready yet she could have still waited on you and told you when to come back. in my opinon they are supposed to be friendly not ignore you

You just need to be a little more vocal. Busy people are hard to deal with, I know.

Stand Up and be heard sweetie, directly ask her for a response she can answer, like: "How long should this take?" I know you got it in you.
