You do endanger your health by trying to sleep less - if that's not your natural sleep style. We instinctively sleep as much as we want and, if you try to bypass that natural part of your makeup, you will be robbing Peter to pay Paul - indeed. If you're so tired during the day that you need stimulants to stay as productive as you wish, then you're adding a chemical to your system that can really screw you up. I'd suggest that you get a little less busy and sleep a little more - you'll actually get more quality things done in the time you are awake, if you do what I've suggested. If not, you're just asking for trouble and I'm sorry.

It is very important for sleep. The average adult needs about 6-10 hours of sleep. Without sleep, our bodies tend to be very weak and your mind will go insane pretty much. You'll get stressed out easily, you'll experience irritability, nervousness, complications in your digestive system, hallucinations, nutritional complications, etc. don't reduce yourself to inadequate amounts of sleep. Try and work things out between your daytime schedule and get into a regular sleep schedule as well. You have to have your sleep. No matter what. There are certain drugs like vicodin, and other medications that will keep you awake and alert, but i wouldn't advise it at all. Severe liver damage or kidney damage can result in access amounts of those medications.

good luck to you.

I wouldn't sleep less than 5, and if you sleep less, you have a shorter life span.
