Yeah, the NY accent is great! Have you heard how folks talk in Pittsburgh? If not, look up Pittsburghese (that's what they call it) and check it out. They have a very specific & endearing accent and even have their own words, such as "spiggot" for faucet and "gumband" for rubber band and "youze" for you (plural; you all). They say "red up" instead of straighten up or clean up.

As an outsider, New England.
Noi Yawk puts my back up, Californian is whiney. Southern Belle (Scarlet O'Hara) gets my back up. Good ol' frontier gabble is nostalgic.
