Contrast the isostatic adjustment that might result from the melting of glacial ice with isostatic adjustment that a large river emptying into the ocean might cause.

Umm... they are basically the same thing. Melting glaciers feed many rivers, it is just the method the glacier water gets to the ocean that is different.

My guess is the land will come up in both cases.
