Give him an antihistamine tablet and apply local anaesthetic ointment if you have one.

If it was a wasp there won't be a stinger in the wound. If it was some type of bee then take a credit card edge and scrape the stinger off. Apply a topical antihistamine like benadryl, and taking a benadryl tablet wouldn't hurt. Ice helps the sewlling. If the swelling begins to travel, hives develop (red raised patches on other parts of the body), tightness in the chest or shortness of breath, numbness of lips, go to a hospital immediately.

The numb feeling is his body's reaction to getting hurt. so dont worry!

In my family, we rub it with garlic, kind of smelly -- i know, but it works.

the chemicals in garlic will help heal it and will neutralize the poison from the wasp sting.

also, if it was a wasp that stung him, it probably left the stinger as a souvenir, so you should remove it, because it keep pumping poison into the wound even after it's been detached from the actual wasp.

P.S. the wasp probably died from stinging your husband... so dont worry about revenge ;)

Nothing really. I got stung by one two weeks ago. That sucker hurt for 3 days before the pain went away completely.

If he is not allergic to them dab a little bleach on the sting will stop the hurting. If it starts swelling at all, get him to a hospital.

He may be allergic. Apply ice and monitor. Remove stinger with tweezers if possible. If swelling increases, go to the hospital.

I go to the hospital because I am allergic to any type of bee sting

get some baking soda and make a mush with water and put it over the sting - it helps get the stinger out and eases swelling.
