Most of the people I know are not close to their brothers and sisters as adults, even if they get along with them or like them. It seems like siblings are so very different from each other that as adults, they grow apart or even become estranged. Are you really tight with your siblings or are they too different than you for you to be truly close?

My siblings and I are very close. Even though we all live in different towns, we make it a point to call and visit each other. We don't judge one another, we just love each other and even when they're wrong, they will always be right in my eyes and I will always take their side.

I wouldn't say that they become estranged if they have had a life without a situation to cause a split. But that is life parents raise their kids to grow up and start a family of their own and repeat the cycle. Just because they don't talk as much any longer doesn't mean they are so different from each other that they grow apart they just tend to work on their own life and the path they chose took them in different directions.

Some siblings seem to stay tight and some seem to drift apart. There are various reasons for each of these.
I do think that siblings get involved in their own world and families, move away, and just get to involved and to busy to pay attention to their brothers and sisters. Sometimes its jealously of who has what.
But, from experience, when the sibling's KIDS grow up, marry and get their OWN families, the original siblings will drift back together. Never REAL close but closer than they were during the working and family days.
I am lucky in that my children have all settled within 11 miles of me. They see each other all the time, their kids play together and we have family "get to gathers" at my home often, especially on all holidays. Had one today for no reason.
Sometimes siblings just never get close while they are kids at home. So, as they finish high school, get married and move away, the closeness just never is there. Their moms and dads probably are to blame for that situation. Good luck. Pops

my sister and i are very close still. when we live close to each other we usually have all the same friends even though we are very different. when we're apart we talk to eah other at least once a week.

I'm close with my sister. We talk a few times a week even if we can't see each other as much as we want.

They do but it's because their lives take them in difference directions so they lose touch with each other even if they all live in the same town\city.

My sister and myself are as different as night and day...Unfortunately, we were never close growing up and I can see that we are growing further apart..It happens, that's life.

I have three brothers and three sisters. I love all of them to pieces, but I have not spoken to one of my brothers in months and another in years.
My remaining brother and all three of my sisters and myself live within five miles of each other. We see each other almost daily.
The brother I have not spoken to in months lives out of state and is often busy with his own family. The other brother quit speaking to my mother years ago when she was unable to attend his wedding. I told him he had a lot of nerve hurting her for for things that were out of her control and he quit talking to me as well.
Like I said, I love them all.. but, unfortunately, things do happen that cause people to part ways. I would like to be able to speak to my two brothers more, but one has his own things to worry about and we speak when we can and the other has his head too far up his wife's *** to care about the people who raised him.

Yes!!! I was born in a family of 4 children. None of us as adults get along with each other. I blame our upbringing. We were always pitted against each other and if my mom didn t talk to us the other siblings were not allowed to to talk with that child. We were taught never to trust each other or believe in each other. So naturally we fought and separated.

Thankfully all of us are a very close nit family. Tho we fight and B *tch alot we are still very close and have always been !
