Dutch Apple Crumb Pie
1 prepared pie crust
Pie Filling
6 cups (8 apples) McIntosh apples, peeled and sliced
2 TB minute tapioca
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp Signature Spices Dutch Apple Pie Spice
1 TB lemon juice
Crumb Topping
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter (no substitutes)
2/3 tsp Signature Spices Dutch Apple Pie Spice
In a large bowl, mix together the above pie filling ingredients and place in the 10" pie
shell. In a food processor, mix together the crumb topping ingredients until a soft
dough forms, crumble by hand topping and place on top of the apples.
Preheat oven to 400`. Place pie in oven and bake at 400` for 20 minutes. Then turn
oven temperature down to 325` and bake for 30 minutes. You may use foil to cover
the edge of the crust if it becomes too brown.

all I can tell you is for a unforgettable apple pie use 3 kinds of apples 2 sweet and one tart the mixture of them is delight full.
I don't do crumb crust so I am no help there but I do make a lot of apple pie it is my favorite and if you want a good recipe let me know.

Original recipe yield: 1 deep dish 9 inch pie.
INGREDIENTS:
1 (9 inch) deep dish pie crust
5 cups apples - peeled, cored and thinly sliced
1/2 cup white sugar
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/3 cup white sugar
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
6 tablespoons butter ( = 90 g )
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C.) Arrange apple slices in unbaked pie shell. Mix 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon; sprinkle over apples.
Mix 1/3 cup sugar with flour; cut in butter until crumbly. Spoon mixture over apples.
Bake in preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until apples are soft and top is lightly browned.

This is more of an apple crisp but it is SOOO good - I am skeptical of "quick" recipes b/c I love to cook and take lots of time to put things together but if you chop 4-6 apples and put them in a baking dish, then pour about half a package of yellow cake mix (dry) over the top and the cut about 1/2 - 3/4 of a stick of butter into pats and place randomly over the top and bake all for about 40 minutes you will have a DELICIOUS apple dessert. Awesome. Yum.

APPLE CRUMBLE AND VANILLA ICE CREAM

2 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
1 1/2 cups (packed) golden brown sugar
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup (2 sticks) chilled unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
Nonstick vegetable oil spray
4 pounds large Granny Smith apples, peeled, halved, cored, each half cut into 6 slices
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Vanilla ice cream
Mix oats, 1 cup sugar, and flour in bowl. Add butter; rub in with fingertips until topping comes together in moist clumps. (Can be made 1 day ahead. Cover; chill.)
Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray 13x9x2-inch glass baking dish with nonstick spray. Mix apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, and 1/2 cup brown sugar in bowl. Transfer to dish. Sprinkle topping over.
Bake crumble until apples are tender and topping is brown and crisp, about 55 minutes. Cool slightly. Spoon warm crumble into bowls. Serve with ice cream.
Makes 10 to 12 servings.

DUTCH APPLE PIE
7-10 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
Place sliced apples in 9 inch unbaked pie shell. Mix and sprinkle over apples:
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon cloves
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon water (or fresh lemon juice if you have it) over top.
CRUMB CRUST:
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup flour
1 stick butter
Mix together sugar and flour. Cut the butter into the sugar and flour mixture using a fork, pastry blender or food processor.
Sprinkle over top of pie.
Bake at 400°F for 40-45 minutes. If the pie begins to brown too rapidly, cover lightly with foil.
Served every Fall in Pennsylvania Dutch country. A combination of green (such as Granny Smith) and red (such as Cortland or Mcintosh) works best. A few drops of vanilla can be mixed into sugar.
PERFECT DUTCH APPLE CAKE
3 c. flour
2 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 c. oil
2 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Juice of 1 orange
4 eggs
4 apples
Cream sugar and oil. Sift flour, baking powder and add to creamed sugar. Add eggs, vanilla and orange juice alternately.
Mix 4 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon. Add to sliced thin apples and mix.
DUTCH APPLE BREAD
2 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
5 tart apples, pared and sliced
1 c. milk
2 tbsp. butter
Sugar and cinnamon
1 egg
Sift flour; add baking powder, salt and sugar. Cut shortening into dry ingredients as for pastry. Add beaten egg and milk. Beat thoroughly until well blended. Spread in a greased shallow pan. 8 x 12 inches. Press apple slices over the top and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes.
DUTCH APPLE DESSERT
5 med. all purpose apples, pared, cored & sliced (about 5 c.)
14 oz. can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 c. + 2 tbsp. cold butter
1 1/2 c. biscuit baking mix
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In medium bowl combine apples, sweetened condensed milk and cinnamon. In large bowl cut 1/2 cup butter into 1 cup biscuit mix until crumbly. Stir in apple mixture. Pour into greased 9" square baking pan. In small bowl, combine remaining 1/2 cup biscuit mix and sugar, cut in remaining 2 tablespoons butter until crumbly. Add nuts. Sprinkle evenly over apple mixture. Bake 1 hour or until golden. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.
