A skin condition called Molluscum contagiosum. Has anyone ever heard of it and what happens with it?

Yep. All three of my kids had it. It's viral and spreads easily, especially at swimming pools and gyms. It's not dangerous but it is unsightly. One of my kids had hers frozen off (painful and not terribly successful). With the other kids I used little dabs of local anesthetic cream (i.e. EMLA) on the spots and after a few minutes picked off the tops of the spots with a sterilized needle (I know, it sounds awful, but it was recommended by two doctors and it WORKS!). You CAN just leave them and it will eventually disappear on its own, but I wasn't keen on that - it can take months or longer. The biggest trick was getting the kids to sit still and not freak out at the sight of the needle. Good luck!
