A lot of people-mostly my siblings- have a tendency to "drop in" on my family for visits. It's not that I don't want to see them- but they seem to drop in a lot while we're getting ready to eat dinner or getting ready to leave and I really wish they would call ahead- how can I ask them to not drop in anymore without hurting their feelings?

i hate when people drop in also. just tell them to please call ahead because you often have plans. or next time they drop in tell them you were on your way out and they should have called.

Just be honest. Tell them that you would appreciate it if they would kindly call before dropping in for a visit. That you have a very busy household and that sometimes you may not have time to visit with them the way you would like too. I am sure they will understand. If they don't, lock the door, turn out the lights and pretend your not home...lol.

I hate it when people drop in too, so I make sure they know how much I hate it. I'm all about being up front, just tell them to call first and leave it at that. Most normal people will understand.

Be glad your family loves you and want to be with you. There are many lonely people out there that wish their family would visit. Just ask them to call ahead before they come over . If you don't want them over tell them your busy. Don't answer the phone or door.... if they get mad... they'll get over it.

Tell them this is a bad time, you're really busy right now and can't visit. Tell them to call ahead and if they still won't, don't answer your door. They need to learn to respect your privacy.
