Both of the books of the new testament have been covered up by the mainstream. Mary's gospel was found in the late 1800's and the Gospel of Thomas in the 1950's.

The gospel of Mary was hidden by the church because the church (catholic) is male dominated.

The gospel of Thomas says this:

114. Simon Peter said to them, "Make Mary leave us, for females do not deserve life." Jesus said, "Look, I will guide her to make her male, so that she too may become a living spirit resembling you males. For every female who makes herself male will enter the kingdom of Heaven."

What do you think of that, ladies?

I have seen a response caliming that the age of these gospels is circa 300ad and that is why they weren't considered. Revelations was written circa 400ad.

It is also worth noting that the Greek Orthodox Bible has more books in it that the standard King James version.

The Gospel of Thomas I have read. It's a little odd: child Jesus resurrects dead birds and whatnot. It's so different from the canonical gospels that I have a little difficulty with it, but I wouldn't discourage reading it.

ladies, men, and scholars ... consider this

The "gospel of Thomas" and, probably, the "gospel of Mary Magdalene" and most of the other "gospels" not in the New Testament are books/letters/scrolls which were written circa 25 AD or later and have distinctive gnostic theology, etc. which are not in keeping with the theology of the New Testament.

So, whether it was "Mary's gospel" of the late 1800's or "Gospel of Thomas" of the 1950's. or gnostic "gospels of circa 300 A.D., yet they are "another Gospel" ... and as the New Testament writer says "though we nor an Angel from Heaven proclaim unto you any other gospel than that which we [the Apostles] have proclaimed, let him [or her] be anathema".

Probably would be better if you spent your time studying the Bible, finding out about the daughters of Zelophehad, or about Priscilla, or about the noble women of the Gospel accounts, or the godly woman of Proverbs 31, or Esther, Ruth, etc., etc.

Mary was the first to find out that Jesus had Resuscitated and the first one to informed the apostles. This is in the Gospels and was never hidden.
How can Jesus said some thing like that? His mother was a woman, was she not?

I don't know if the church hid these books, since to my knowledge
they were only found in recent times.
There are two aspects to the Lifeforce, we understand as the
masculine and feminine. The feminine flows from the Source to us. The masculine, from us back to the Source.
Jesus said He often spoke spiritually. Like eating His flesh, and drinking His blood, was spirit, not literally being "ghouls"!
When He said He would make Mary male, he meant helping her to become a part of the aspect of the Lifeforce that takes us BACK to our Creator.

This kind of thing is why the Apocrypha is not considered scripture. The authorship is doubtful and the content doesn't conform with the Old Testament or the excepted New Testament. I put no stock in it and no one I know in the Church does either.... Jim

The books were not allowed because they were not considered to be inspired by God.
