When I was 14, there was this guy who was probably 65 years old. I was working at a school cleaning, and so was he. He said: "Don't take no s hit from nobody and the only people who can yell at you are your parents" I used that advice throughout high school. It's just plain true.

Not exactly advise given to me, but the movie the Shawshank Redemption has perhaps one of the best pieces of advice ever:
"Get busy living, or get busy dying"
Also "Carpe Diem" is a good way to live your life.

A great aunt told me - whatever happens in life, remember the good times learn from the bad and put it behind you. Resentment and bitterness only eats your own inner self up.
My A-Level maths stats teacher said in the first leason - Never believe statisics, they can be malipulated to show you what they want you to see.

Someone once told me...."When you come off the roundabout on the A4 at chiswick, make sure you keep in the right hand lane or you'll end up going the wrong way" Damn, how right they were.
Best advice I ever had.

I once bought a bottle of white spirit. Around the neck of the bottle, in raised script, braille and moon, were the words:
"Do not drink. Keep away from Children"
I thought that was excellent advice and I adopted it as my family motto.

From my old friend Red: "Chivalry is dead. It was killed by feminists." It changed my perspective on dating completely. Now I abhor the mere thought of a chivalrous guy.

My mum always says "One years not seven" ???!!
Meaning how your life is now, it may not always be so don't look down or laugh at peoples misfortune. Her boss always used to make fun of people with special needs or who just 'were'nt right' (his words) and my mum would always say "One years not seven" His son was born with Downs Syndrome and he doesnt make fun of anyone now.

forgive because anger is self distructive by doing the most damage to the angery person and not the one who the anger is directed at.
