Passport, birth certificate, drivers license. Keep in mind that if you travel to Canada after January 2007 you will need a passport to get back into your own country.

Well right now I think you can use a birth certificate, driver's license or some form of citizenship proof. A passport is recommended but many people have used birth certificates as well. The rules are going to change, in 2009 people have to use passports.

All previous answers assumed that the traveler was a U.S. citizen. Non-citizens MUST have a valid passport to cross the border either way. Hope that helps!

time to get your passport out if youa re planning on flying or driving to canada anytime that you are going anywhere traveling you should carry your passport just in case something happens

Passports are required for flights starting on Jan 8, 2007.

Passport are required for all entries starting on Jun 1, 2009.
