Legal immigrants are entitled to every benefit you are entitled. Illegal Immigrants are not contrary to what all the anti-immigrants are claiming.

The Polish have always contributed in many ways to Britain.
These same people were the ones who also flew spitfires to halt the advancing luftwaffe..It is far better to learn their history and see how they really could do well in britain than have preconcieved ideas of people you know nothing about. So you had a few mishaps with the DSS..Dont you think it really needs reorganizing?
Has anyone heard of Polish muggers, rapists, theives,?doubt it
If so it is indeed a rare one, theyre Hard workers and love their mother country..So when theyre able.. they go back and help their families.Thats how it is with foreigners ..A very Large portion of them..
This country gets respect from a lot of nations, because of people improving their skills and knowledge from G.B.To have any skill
especially from G.B. is a privalige.Goverments come and go,but its the majority of Brits ie teachers ,instructors, ordinary joes and janes, that are respected..(incase someone mentions what about the Iraqi war).
I can and have gone to almost any part of the world and stay with those that used to live and school here ,oh yes these people consider me( average joe) a good friend (sob sob)

Not all the immigrants are entitled to receive benefits. Many of them are not, so they have to work. When they work, people complain that they are taking up jobs form natives.
Thing is, is this benefit thing only a problem with immigrants who receive it? I don't think so. There are so many natives who actually sit around all day and get loads of money for it. And that is paid by tax from everyone, including immigrants. Some of those people are just too lazy or too proud to work in certain jobs. Before anyone complains about immigrants, people should complain about those.
I know that there are some immigrants who can receive it, but what makes people think that they came to UK for the sake of it? Who likes to be treated like a second class citizen who is complained for having the same rights as others, and living in a crappy house, receiving £50 a week? Please. What do people understand of those who had to leave home for that?
I do not see a problem in everyone having the same rights, but actually that is not happening in the reality. Many people are brainwashed by the government, who is just blaming on the failing benefit system on those who is not strong enough to answer back.
The government is clearly failing to work benefit system out. They are keeping people on benefit instead of helping them to work, or become independent. Many single mothers get caught up in the system and they are forced to live poorly. And somehow, just because you are not from UK, you get to blamed for it. This is injustice.

I'm sick of qualified people being turned down for jobs because the employer prefers to employ a Pole who'll do the same job for £2.50 an hour (Most Brits couldn't live on that with Council Tax, Mortgage/Rent etc).
Myself and my partner live on the breadline but claim no benefits - I was even told I couldn't get incapacity Benefit when I was sick because I'd worked part time for a few months 4 years ago and apparently "hadn't made enough Nat Ins contributions in this period". As my partner worked more than 16 hours a week i couldn't get income support either!! How the hell my BF was supposed to look after us both on his 25 hour a week min wage job god only knows!! The woman at the benefit office couldn't answer this.
So why are these people who havem't even paid Nat Ins or tax being allowed to scrounge money off the system? Why are they coming here taking jobs and making things harder for the people who have been here all their lives?
I'm SICK of left wingers and liberals defending these people! You idiots should try walking a day in my shoes and the shoes of people I know who can barely put food on the table or keep a roof over their heads!

Britain has gone to the dogs totally ... at the moment, Britain, Ireland and I think Sweden are the only countries who will allow Romanians and Bulgarians in immediately after their inclusion in the EU ... all other EU countries have put a moratorium of 2 years on immigration from those countries ... why didn't Britain?? Come next election, get rid of the sorry excuses for leaders in the House of Commons ...

A huge majority of the money that this country pays in benefits goes to indigenous people. A large portion of that goes to British people who do not work, and have little incentive to work, or to those who unfairly claim incapacity benefit.
The reason people from other European Union countries can claim benefits here is the same reason that was can claim benefits in any of the other 24 member countries. There are restrictions to all of the claims, and in the main, eastern European immigrants are greatly helping the British economy by providing cheap labour, which increases corporate profits, increases tax flowing into the exchequer and enables the government to continue to fund public services (without quite as much borrowing as could have happened) to the great extent that they have been doing the last few years.
Just remember, it's really not as simple an issue as the tabloid papers make it out to be, and while there are undoubtedly immigrant scroungers, in general there is a great benefit to economic migration.

Some do, some don't. I know that Nigeria pays the US 36 million dollars a year, so their students can come to the country and go to school, tax free.
Romanians are offered certain benefits because their country has deals in place with our government. I am not saying all of the deals that our government makes are above reproach (they are politicians after all), but sometimes it means getting money, imported goods, oil...
It can also mean that they are allowing us to install military bases in their country, which is a big deal maker.

Make every able bodies person work. I think that the Social Services should make anyone who can't find a job in 6 months join the Armed Forces. I don't mean just immigrants. Everyone should put money in to the countries Economy.

It's our own Governement's fault - when asylum seekers first arrive in the country they are not permitted to work and they received benefits. This is ludicrous!! Most asylum seekers would be more than happy to work. I object to the comment about people who cannot be bothered to help themselves - most asylum seekers I know are very hard workers. Of course there are the illegal immigrants. Having said that - we need to blame our governement. I don't blame anyone for moving to a place where they feel they will have a better life - but our government should be cracking down on immigration - legal and illegal. Australia does it along with many other countries - why not us?

I've paid into the system for 20 years. I became unemployed due to illness. I was thrown off incapacity and now live on £57 pounds per week. After 6 month i have to live off my savings to support myself assuming i don't get a job by then. From day 1 they get more than i ever had. This country is ****! And yes i'm bitter!
