I think 13 is the perfect age to date in a group setting, with tow or more friends going out and having fun. I think 16 is a good age to go on more solo dates with just you an the guy. You do not think that three year make a different but it does, starting out dating in a group can be fun. If your date starts acting dumb you still have your friends to hang out with. Also the pressure of doing thing with a guy you are not ready for is not there. I think when you are 16 you are more comfortable with boys and know more about what to expect on a date. What ever is right for your family is probably the best answer. Your parent maybe telling you 13 is to young to date for a reason. Just remember the best time to start dating is when you feel comfortable to even think about it.

13 is too early to start dating! At that age you should just take time to get to know guys in groups. Wait until you are at least 16, but that may even be young. The point of dating is to find the person you will eventually end up with for the rest of your life, and teenagers just don't have the maturity to determine that. If you are dating for another reason, like to make sure you can have a friend, then you are setting yourself up for problems because two people who are dating can't just stay "friends."

Call me old fashion but it worked for me and it worked on my children. Group dating at 14. That is what it means a group(6+) goes skating, to the movies, shopping, eating etc.Parents drop off and pick up. Double dating at 16. That involves cars, trucks, SUV, or whatever his parents drive. There is less temptations if another couple are along. Then single dating at 18. As an adult, and hopefully raised with moral standards you will make wise and right choices.

age 16 is a wonderful time to start dating. You will enjoy it more and so would your parents. When you do date don't be foolish and date only one guy (the so called going steady) date many until you find the one closest to being THE ONE!

At any age you feel that you are mature enough. Like if you really wouldn't want to cheat on your girlfriend, or only would want her for some night...Then, you are mature to date.

To young. Don't hurry. listen to your parents. Go out in a group and come back home at the time your parents tell you.
