Very good question!
We both know it. Emotional pain. I have broken 4 bones in my life. Badly broke my leg on a Mountain in Alaska and had to set it myself. None of this bothers me. I compete. But betrayal, hate, unjustified anger, by people we love, that is hard. Yet, all people have to deal with this. I dealt with stupid parents better than a 25 year old marriage that died due to an affair by my ex. That hurt for a very long time.
Emotional hurts more.

Probably emotional. The body heals. The memory has a hard time forgetting and letting go. It lasts longer than physical pain, so it hurts longer and worse. Physical pain, people can get over. They have a harder time dealing with emotional pain, especially when it comes from those they love, from people they don't expect to hurt them.
We can try to protect ourselves and each other from physical injury and pain. It's a bit more difficult to protect ourselves from emotional pain. People who love us are supposed to protect us, not hurt us, and it's devastating when they do just the opposite, so I'd be apt to say the shock of a loved one hurting us emotionally would hurt worse than, say, a broken leg.

Depends on what type of emotional or physical pain. When my new car got scraped, there was some emotional pain. It didn't last too long. When my wife died, there was some emotional pain. That has lasted longer. I've stubbed my toe before, and that was physical pain. It didn't last long. I have a back that frequently gives me pain, and that's lasted a lot longer.

Personally I have had the most problem with emotional pain. I think that the biggest reason for this is that emotional pain can only be caused by the ones we love the most.

Emotional. Physical pain only hurts a little (in most case) in comparison to emotional pain and the bruises heal.

Emotional.
With physical pain, all you need is a bandaid and you dont think of it ever again, really.
But emotional pain comes back to you every once in a while and you are hit with the thought "why didnt I do something about it?" Rape, murder, robbery, unfairness, and family problems are the true scars in life.
Just because the scar is inside doesnt mean nobody can see it.

Experiencing both has led me to agree with the majority: emotional pain. You can be suffering with pain great enough to merrit the highest legal dose of morphiene, but pain on that scale doesn't last. Either it goes away, or you die soon after and it still stops.
Emotional pain, however, can linger on for years. I ask you, what causes more people to take their life - physical suffering or emotional suffering?

You're asking for an objective question to a relative question. I have an uncle who was burned over 90% of his body back in 1987. He still experiences physical pain.
I know many people who have lost a loved one. Some got over the emotional pain quickly, some carried it with them 20 or more years, to their grave.
What pains do you have that are long lasting?
