Land, mascarading as religious beliefs. The crusades were over land, native north americans were rounded up and put in residential schools to "educate" them, do you think that didn't have anything to do with getting and keeping the land? Bush's attacks on the middle east are all about the oil in the land, nothing to do with the "religious" rights and freedoms of the people. If he were really interested in helping people, he would intervene in Africa and many other parts of the world where attrocities are carried out on a daily basis, but they don't have oil so he doesn't care.
This is my whole basis for denying the church. I don't deny God but church and religion are deadly.

That's an awkward question!
People all through History have always had religious beliefs. Check the history of the earliest people and you will notice that religion was an everyday part of their lives.
To say that religion caused wars is the same as saying..people cause wars.

could have made a more challenging question....it has to be religious beliefs, or at least land fought over because of religious beliefs like Israel/Palestine. how many people have died fighting over that land?
