I want to take up Martial Arts as like self displine and i want to gain not only integrity but like flips too.

Wow! We get to do back flips in Judo. I guess they teach that in the 15th year...

Hey.

Flips are mostly used today in gymnastics, to show off or in French "free running", called Le Parkour, which is basically city running, climbing walls, overcoming obsticles, etc. It is quite effective if one lives in the city, and you need to get away quickly. As was said above, almost no martial art would teach you flips, as they are. Also, taking up martial arts just because they do backflips, would not be wise either. What I suggest you do is to go find a good martial art for yourself; and if you are willing to learn backflips, ask someone about Le Parkour, because they would be probably the best in it (that, or capoeira). Be aware though that capoeira is also traeted as a spiritual dance, not just martial art.

Different martial arts teach you different things. Some have strong punches some have strong kicks, grabs, throws, chokes, etc. What I am doing is bujinkan ninjutsu and it is concidered as a deadliest martial art (just for information). It also teaches you how to get out of trouble unharmed by any means. Kung fu (or wing chun - variation of kung fu) are the oldest martial arts out there, got started by monks in Tibet. Kung fu has lots of speed, flexibility and aesthetics to it, looks amazing, really.

Ive seen karate, tae kwon do, kung fu and capoeria guys all do back flips. Some people say that no handed cart wheels and flips arnt any good in a real fight, but if your strong enough to flip yourself, your strong enough to move hella fast. It could also come in handy for escaping enemies as you jump past obstacles. Its just handy.
Martial arts is a total package.
you gotta learn it all and be it all.
Fit, flexible and high flying.
yet, you gotta fight for real, and know real life situations.
You cant have one without the other, well you can, but it leads to alot of trash talking and bias of styles. Why not be able to do it all? I thought martial arts was about being balanced, not just doing combat stuff as some other answers suggested.
Traditional Northern Shaolin kung fu might be a good choice for you. Its complete... even with ground work and joint locks for you meat heads.

There is a style of martial arts call Xtreme Martial Arts (XMA). It is a performance martial art which is used to impress more than to provide self-defense. XMA is a organization on its own but it is also in connection with the American Taekwondo Association's (ATA) Leadership Program. In XMA, you are taught how to present yourself to be tough and have attitude mixed in with some martial arts and gymnastics techniques.

Learn a Martial Art, and learn to back flip. Do not learn them together.
any fighting style that teaches backflips as a practical form of defence is taking advantage of your gullibility.

you can do both, but you would be better off without the need to flip. looks good, but has no value outside of the movie set.

like mentioned above me capoeira is very acrobatic and so is wu shu but the main focus is not the flips

when i was in capoeira it was about an hour and a half and the first 10-20mins was stretching(very imporant for the moves done in capoeira) about 45mins of practicing new moves and the remaining time was doing a roda or practice acrobatics in the gymnastics room not that much time focused specifically on flips.

when learning an art you learn a great deal about balance and confidence where a lot of tricks come from; but if you want to focus on flips u need to go to gymnastics but if you cant then capoeira or wu shu would be some of the best things to do

Not necessarily "flips," but Bujinkan teaches rolls as part of the basics; the more advanced practitioners eventually roll while jumping/leaping, which is, in effect, a flip, but not the graceful kind that gymnastics teaches, more a quick way to get out of the way or to cover ground.

Several of the Shao LIn styles, mostly those based on animal styles. Wu Shu also has a lot of gynmastic techniques. Also a couple of the Korean styles, Holkido and Hwa Rang Do had such movements as well.

I dont know about begining Kung Fu and Judo, but very advanced kung fu and judo would involve all the fancy stuff like flipping...Aslo, the art of ninja teaches all kinds of fighting combined, and im sure flipping is involved! Both my parents are professional karate(Shotokan) instructers, who met each other in Japan, although neither is Japanese! My mom is from New Orleans, with a french, American Indian, Irish, German, and Canadian background. My dad is Palestinian... Both of them train under Sensei Mikami....look him up if you dont know him! lol... they have been doing karate since they were kids, and now they are both in their 40's and 5th degree black belts who can kick a**!!! lol

No serious form of martial arts would teach that sort of stuff. That's considered fluff. It looks great and is fun, but true martial arts teach fighting.

Taekwondo teaches a lot of kicks that look very nice for an eye. But to make them right you need a lot of experience and first you must learn basic kicks. You have a lot of information on page below :
