yes, yes, yes & YES. I straighten my hair everyday though. You just have to take really good care of your hair, get a really good conditioner and deep condition it once a week. I let mine air dry mostly then blow dry it a bit just to try to take off some of the heat damage. Rubbing your hair vierously with a towel is bad to try & speed up the drying process is bad. Go to Sally's they have some spray that you use while straightening it to try & prevent some of the damage it will do to your hair. It's from "In the Zone" or something - only $5 you should try it.

Yes! It can dry out your hair, make it stiff, harder to grow. If you are going to iron your hair make sure you are using a fortifying vitamin shampoo like Pantene Pro-V, something beneficial towards your hair and use a creme or spray BEFORE ironing. For best results, DO NOT iron hair when wet. This sucks out moisture from your hair and also essential minerals that make it shiny, healthy, full of volume, strong and make it grow beautifully. What I usually do is wash my hair at night, put a straightening creme and iron in the morning after it's dry.

Anything you do with heat damages your hair from the moment it is applied. If you are talking about doing it with chemicals, same thing applies. Just baby your hair otherwise. Use good but gentle shampoo and a deep conditioner once a week. And don't overdue it with any product.

it definitely does not do anything good for your hair. the bad news is that it does damage it, but the good news is that you have some control over how much damage is done. for example, you should definitely use conditioner. you shouldn't iron your hair while it's still wet. you shouldn't hold the blow dryer too close to your hair. and it's probably not a good idea to straighten it every day.

Yes it does damage your hair, but if it a toss up between a bad hair day or a good hair day i would take the good hair day with a pair of straighteners.

Yes. Heat styling your hair anyway can damage it. Not as bad as chemical treatments and etc. But yes it does damage your hair although it is not a significant amount of damage.

Heat damages your hair whether its straightening or blow drying. You can protect your hair using the many products on the market. You apply to your hair usually when wet to prevent heat damage!!!!!

Yes, straightening your hair does damage it. It makes your hair dry and strangly. Also, you no longer get that shiny look after a while. Trust me, I have a friend who used to always straighten her hair and it was horrible. She recently stopped and now her hair is beautiful.
