The ones who do not die come home. Or most of them does.

You will find that the majority of soldiers are against war unless they are rear echelon.

You will also hear that there are no atheists in foxholes, indication that combat strengthens religious faith. That is true in a few cases but is mainly just one of the lies told by those willing to send others to die but not to risk their own hides. Loss of faith is one of the traumas not popular to address in public.

Because soldiers do their duty, people make the mistaken assumption that they are in favor of the politics behind whatever action they are committed to. But when they are misused, they know it.

They will carry the scars of war with them to their death bed. The memories of blown up bodies and blood never go away. My dad was a world war l l vet and he led a normal life but you could see tears when he watched a war movie and yet he couldn't stop watching them.

Because it is an unjust war being fought for all the wrong reasons in the wrong place at the wrong time with high casualties among our service men and women, this conflict is causing a tremendous strain on their minds and bodies and sending them home dead, wounded, or as psychological basket cases. George Bush's desire to be a "hero" in his own imagination is bringing a terrible reality to bear on all of our courageous miltary people who are forced to serve in Iraq, and who end up being sacrificed by the thousands at the altar of Bush's reckless and relentless ambition!

Most of the time, believe it or not, it makes them more determined to get the job done. And, also, alot who were wounded; hoped they would go back with their buddies. Soldiers form a "bond" with each other in everything they do. It's a closeness that I really respect.
