1.Christians believe the Messiah is Jesus Christ, God Himself, and that he has come and died for all of us to pay for our sins, while Muslims believe that the Messiah is Mohammed, a prophet, who gave them the Koran.
2.Muslims believe in a relationship with God as a distant king, but Christians also believe in a personal relationship as well.
3.Muslims must pray 5 times a day to Mecca, where a stone supposedly deposited there by God lies.
4. Muslims cannot ever eat pork.
5. Christians believe God is 3 persons in 1.
6.Christians believe God is present in the Eucharist.
I'm Christian, so what I know about Muslims is limited, but that's about it. There are many other differences too, but I'm running out of time

clearair1 got it right, the rules and the understanding are close to the same, they(Islam)believe that hell is a place that purifies souls that will eventually get into heaven.Catholics believe this place is called purgatory,a place between Heaven and Hell, but as far as Jesus,Islam says he was a great prophet not the Messiah(same as Christians do with the Jewish religion)

Mostly the problem is about the being of God and the status of Jesus.
Christianity believes that God is a Trinity, that three Persons make up one God.
Islam believes that God is One, incomparable and indivisible.
Christianity believes that Jesus was God's reincarnation on earth and that he was the Son of God.
Islam believes that Jesus is one of the greatest Prophets and certainly a great human being.
The question is: What makes sense?
Is the Creator three persons, or is He the One and only God? Is Jesus a God walking on earth and having to eat and was bullied and killed by his creation?
Or was he a Prophet, trying to save others by spreading what God commanded him to do (to serve God and not Jesus himself), and in the way was bullied and chased after for speaking the truth?
God is One, and He is Holy from the falsehood that humans have created. May He show us the Oneness of Himself, and that Jesus, as Muhammad, was His noble messenger.

Islam rests on five pillars: Oneness of God, Prescribed Prayers, Prescribed Fasting, Pilgrimage and Charity.
Christianity rests on three pillars: Original sin, Divinity of Jesus, Death and Resurrection of Jesus. Christianity falls apart if any of these three is missing.

Chrstianity puts God in the center of heaven being sung to and woshipped and enjoyed however The descriptions in Islam make is a place of man's comfrot putting man in the center
the adoption as chideren of God through the death and resurection of Jesus is key to Chrsitianity and the BIble is rich in mercy, justice and faithfulness wheer one is commanded not just to do mercy but to LOVE MERCY
both the adoption and cross are denied by Islam and in fact if the BIble is true Islam cannot be
Bottom line....just as there is one marriage in the garden of eden, there is one marriage in heaven and its not with the 70 virgins, it is betwen Chrsit and the bride of chrst, the redeemed who will enjoy knowing God forever

There are many differences.
Christianity: God is knowable. Jesus Christ, born of Mary of Nazareth (a virgin at conception and at birth), is God incarnated. He alone of mankind was a sinless person. He lived for about 33 years as a human, doing miracles and preaching about God. He died on a Roman Cross as a sacrifice, to take away the sins of all humankind, and reconcile us to God. Three days after his death on a cross, Jesus walked out of his tomb alive. One month later, after spending that time with His remaining disciples, Jesus ascended bodily into heaven. We await His return from heaven, when He will defeat the forces of evil. Salvation is offered to all humans who willingly accept Christ as their Messiah (saviour, king, master). Jesus is the Jewish Messiah, but Gentiles are more than welcome to accept His sacrifice. It was given for the whole world. Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, God has now sent a portion of Himself to live within those who believe: the Holy Spirit. Through the Holy Spirit within believers, God still speaks and works miracles even today.
Islam: God is unknowable. Jesus Christ was "just" a prophet, not the son of God. God would not stoop so low as to assume a dirty human form. Mankind's duty is to serve God according to the laws He has already revealed through His prophets. All prophets are sinless. The absolutely last prophet to speak to the world was Mohammed. God has nothing more to say to us. "Salvation" is achieved by living a good moral life, making one trip to Mecca, praying 5 times a day, reading the Koran, and giving to charity. There is no "Holy Spirit", there are no more prophets.
