Install thinking skills
Watching them go through situations in life
Watching them grow up into teenagers and dealing with the emotions they have to go through
Watching them get hurt (by girlfriends/boyfriends)
Letting them go so they can live there lifes.

There are alot of challenges that you go through, You just hope you have done a great job in raising mature children that can handle things that come there way and are not afraid of taking risks.

I find with every age group, there is a new challenge to face. With infants, especially with new mom's, you may not always know what to do. Why are they crying? Why do they spit up? When do they start to crawl....Get teeth...etc, etc....But all that is the easy stuff...
With toddlers you have all the tantrums, the potty training, the discipline. Finding things that work to make them listen!!! It's tough..but it only gets harder as it goes....Like when they are school age...you worry about grades and parent teacher meetings....Friends....Influences.......
The the dreaded Teens years come along...and you really have a lot on your plate....Drugs, Alcohol, drinking, sex....Pregnancy, Birth Control....Driving....Still, school, grades....Peer Pressure, being influenced by others............Graduation....
Being a parent isn't easy, but really...there are alot of good things too, besides all the challenges.

I can only answer for myself, and my daughter is 2 now. My biggest challenge so far has been to stick by what you say. If I say she is going to time out if she doesn't do something, then I have to actually follow through! It is challenging, but I do it! :)

All of the above! And then after all of that the worst is letting go and watch them leave for lives of their own.
