After you have finished washing and conditioning your hair rinse in cold water, this closes all the hair shafts so they will sit straight and you will then get nice shiny hair!! Plus when you're drying your hair use a nozzle on the hairdryer and always point down your hair never point towards the scalp, as this causes the shafts to puff up!! Cheap and effective!!
Also if you're in the shower let the cold water go all over your body as this closes all your pores and keeps your skin pert and will prevent premature aging!!! so I read!! lol

Coat your hair in olive oil, wrap a plastic bag around it and blow a hair dyer over it on the hottest setting for ten minutes. Shampoo it out and use your regular conditioner. If your hair is not color-treated you can do a vinegar rinse that will make it really shiny. (I've found this doesn't' work well on dyed hair.) Just mix a cup of vinegar with a couple cups of water and run it over your hair before you get out of the shower.
If you don't feel like doing all this I usually get decent results from Thermasilk, Garnier and Pantene conditioners. You can basically make a deep conditioner out of any thick conditioner by putting it on your hair dry and running some heat over it for awhile. Then just shampoo out and style as usual.
Other out of the shower tips are, of course to get regular trims with your hair.
A good blow-out is sure to make your hair shiny as well. Do this with a big, round brush section-by-section with a spray on heat protectant, or anti-frizz lotion. I like Pantene's.
No matter if you go curly or blow dry straight you should always use a shin serum. I think Redken's glass drops and L'Oreal Bliss Drops are the best (both around $15), but you can get by with the Citre Shine's or John Freida's Frizz Ease (usually $6 or so)

Their are many ways to achieve shiny hair. Their are supplements you can take to help stimulate hair shine and nail growth. Also their are products like "shine tonic" you can get. Any basic hair line has it, also many shampoos and conditioners. I advise the Garnier Fructis sleek and shine hairline, it's affordable and makes hair very shiny!

Make a fresh avocado and hot olive oil mash to put into your hair once every week or 2. Let it set for about 1 hour. It's kind of disgusting, but it works wonders, especially if you have dry damaged hair.

go to a salon, get your hair dyed, even if you don't want to change the colour get it dyed a colour close to your natural one, and get one with a colour glaze, that's how you get that celeb shine on it, but for just a mild shine, use those shampoos and conditioners designed to make your hair shinier, they can work. try pantene ice shine - you'll probably find it on special offer because its fairly new!
