I have suffered from a hoarse voice now for 4 days with no improvement. Not only is it incredibly annoying it's hard on my own ears and disallows me to sing in the church choir. Any tips on how to get my old voice back?

gargle salt water, keep warm, trying steaming, drink tea with honey and lemon and don't talk unless you have to...whispering is worse so when you do talk make sure you use your full voice even if it sounds funny.

If your throat is sore and you have any other symptoms...like fever, you need to see a doctor and get tested for strep.

My sister sings to at church so when she gets a bad voice she heats green tea and adds medicinal honey, and lemon. Also at night she puts vicks vapor rub on her neck and wraps a scarf around her neck with the vapor rub.

Drink hot tea with lemon and honey. Also keep your throat warm and not exposed to cold weather or the elements.

Try mixing warm honey and lemon or lime juice (either one works fine). Drink it slowly; it helps to lessen the irritation and swelling in the throat, and your voice should get better, faster.

First stop talking if possible, then usually cough medicine with expectorant in it will help with getting the voice back. Good luck
