It would be great if people would be nice all year through instead of just at xmas.

I use to enjoy Christmas-very much. Yet over the years-it has become such a commerical event. Fortunately or unfortunately I work retail at present-trust me-it is nothing but a roullette game for retail-you bet the house wins. I look at the eyes of parents or those hoping to find a great deal-no such animal-I hear kids demanding things-I recognize the look of we cannot afford this-Christmas for a very few is good. Christmas is still the time to sit together and visit and have fun with friends and family. So if I have a Christmas like that it is of value-if I have to buy and buy to make someone happy forget it. Oh by the way ahead of the game Merry Christmas to all reading-have you noticed it is politically incorrect to say anything but happy holidays in the retail market.

It's totally important, it's the time when people who care about each other can come together & be happy. It's a time when no one should be alone. Hence it is better to give than to receive.
But also because it's my birthday on Christmas Day, aint kiddin' am for real. So when my family & best friend do show up on that day it's really special & I love the whole build up to the special time. I mean look how colourful & bright everywhere looks when it's Christmas.

Christmas is a great holiday. As an atheist, I find Christmas to be one of the best secular holidays there is. Christians still like to think that Christmas still has something to do with their dead prophet, and perhaps to them it does. However, there's much more to it now than that. Peace on Earth, goodwill toward men, remembering family, remembering those less fortunate, a celebration of winter being half over, and many other things were never really in the original Christian holiday. Much of it was "borrowed" from the pagans. Much of it was just tacked on later. In any case, it is a good time of year to celebrate with friends.

I look forward to Christmas but not because its Christmas if that makes sense! I look forward to spending time with my family and seeing my daughters face when she opens her gifts and plays with her new toys. This will be her third Christmas and I think this year she'll have a better idea of what's going on. I don't mind all the expense, its a chance to get something for the ones we love and to spend quality time together, whether we like it or not!!!!

Christmas is great i get the day of work, i also get to spend months worth of hard earned wages on a celebration that has absolutely no relevance to me as i don't believe in celebrating the birth of a great MAN (by man i mean a person who had the ability to unite people and see a future of peace but still a man) if of course that is you still believe that Christmas has anything to do with the christian religion anymore and not large multinational companies out to make huge profits exploiting the significance of the date

It's VERY important to me. I look forward to it each year. Sure, it's WONDERFUL to see relatives, spend time with family, open gifts...etc..I love that about Christmas, but let's not forget what it's really about. It's truly about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ Our Lord. Don't ever forget that. God bless.

no, its just a time where shops get loadsa expensive stock in for people to buy each other for no reason, and all non christians seem to celebrate it more than christians- wheres the sense in that?
also, its very busy round christmas time and people put up trees and decorations - i dont see the point. good thing i dont celebrate christmas eh?
i just celebrate new years - all my family buy each other presents for that instead which make a whole lot more sense

No. Christmas is so commercial it has no meaning. Plus it isn't Biblical, it is a take off on pagan holidays. Jesus Christ is very important to me, man's weird celebrations aren't important.

Nope. huge waist of money. My children are 8, 9 and 14 so they really look forward to it. We do it for them.
Getting together with friends and family is great too.
And it isnt' the birth of christ. Its a combination of different religions.
