Many do not understand the meaning when Jesus said do not worship false Idles. At the time everyone where Christ was preaching was worshiping self created ideas ofrIdles for material gain. It is also not recommended to worship demi-gods as higher than God because it is a misunderstanding. They where not worshiping idles or Deities according to scripture which is sanctioned by God. So you can worship a Deity made out of wood, stone, sand, metal, paint(picture) God appears where ever the worshiper is sincere. God is everywhere so is is also in the Idle or Deity.
So they may not worship an Idle out of fear of what they have been told by misinformed persons. Or they may not know about them. Go to www.essene.org for more information on the truth about Christ

The belief should be on God and not on religion. religion is a road God is the destination. So a person who believes on religion is equally ignorant as a person who believes in the idol.

There are some religions that believe in a god, but dislike portrayals of that god. Christianity, Judaism, and Islam claim to denounce idol worship. However, each still have paraphernalia that it holds as sacred.

Religion is the name of Gods worship, it is not personality or idol worship at all.all those who believe in the One True AlMighty all Capable God are called muslims. the word muslim means "Servant of God" it does not means that ones belongs to a specific group or community. All Prophets and Messengers were true servants and slaves of the One God and they all preached the message of Monotheism, the message of The One God. Thus we all should resort to the AlMighty God only as we all will ultimately return to God.
GOD SHOULD BE WORSHIPPED AS GOD HAS COMMANDED US TO WORSHIP GOD, AS THE ONE TRUE ALMIGHTY ALL CAPABLE GOD OF US ALL.

A true "advaitin". The whole world is Brahman to him. Read Shankara's philosophy which is most logical and really the need of the hour. This is the only philosophy of Advaita that offers true solutions to today's conflicts - personal, social, national and international.

wrong question.... religion is a series of rule defining worship... you cannot believe in religion, just obey it.

and i believe in father xmas and it is no stupider than believing in a so called god.... and a lot more fun. be good for your own sake, not for the promise of some nebulous paradise... i mean, what a lot of tosh... you live, you die, you get recycled.... full stop.
