I get tired of people in general acting like their headache is worse than anyone else's just because they refer to it as a "migraine"!

migraines are severe headaches...causes nausea and sensitivity to light.....pretty much feels like your head is gonna explode......headaches usually can be controlled by OTC pain relievers fairly quickly...but migranes cant...ppl with migranes usually have to find a dark quiet room. sometimes ppl with migranes can take OTC pain relievers and they will go away within about an hour or two...in severe cases though it take a prescription to get rid of them......

That is pretty insensitive of you to say that! I've suffered migraines since I was 11 years old and I would not wish them on anyone. I know there are different types of headaches (like cluster or sinus) that can be just as bad but migraines are terrible. Migraines are different for everyone. For me I start with an aura where I can't see, almost like if I a have double vision and am looking through a kaleidescope. Then I get nausea and sensitivity to light and noise. I have to go home from work and lay in bed and then I get a terrible pounding one sided headache. The only thing that relieves it is prescription medicine and sometimes it doesn't work. I've tried daily preventative stuff but it has bad side effects. My neurologist says that I will suffer from migrained probably until I hit menopause (and I'm in my 20's). So yeah, it is worse than everyone elses.

Migraine is caused by lack of oxygen to the brain, poor immune system and or anemia etc. Don't ever compare them to the common or severe headache that you might get. Usually with migraines any smell, light, and sound will make the pain worse and if you cant cure it with a over the counter drug (i.e. Motrin, Bayer, etc.) then you're in for a long pain full ride that not only will it make you have nausea but you can't eat, drink much the less sleep at all. Vomiting too. It all depends on how healthy that person might be, no awful headache can ever compare to a "migraine"headache that's why doctors give prescriptions to patients stronger medication that help. I don't enjoy feeling like I have my head strapped in a vise grip, I hope you never know what they are.

A migraine is pretty much a headache on steroids. I get migraines, and sometimes they're so bad that I throw up, and all I can do is turn off all the lights and lay there in the dark, praying it will go away. I get headaches from a lot of things (mainly loud noises) and they can develop into migraines if the stimulus is prolonged (that's why I never go to concerts...all that noise splits my head in two). A headache is usually an annoyance that's easily fixed with aspirin. Aspirin does nothing for my migraines; I usually have to take Excedrin, and even that doesn't help all that much....sometimes people do use the word "migraine" to mean that they have a bad headache, but if they really have a migraine, you'd know by the "My head is being split in two by that sadistic man with a hammer that's banging the inside of my skull" look on their face.

Migraines are really bad headaches that can cause nausea, tunnel vision, sensitivity to light and sound, dizziness, and other symptoms. The medicines that are strong enough to treat them have to be prescribed but sometimes OTC kinds like Excedrin can help but not always. A migraine may take hours to go away, even once you've taken medicine for it. Headaches aren't bad at all compared to migraines. Truthfully, migraines ARE worse.

Since this is in the Marriage and Divorce section I assume it has to do with the family and possibly divorce. This phrase is misused by the Politicians as an excuse to get away with stuff all the time for thier ulterior motives. This phrase is also used during conversations about Divorce. It refers to the fact that the adults in divorce are not helpless and did this to them selves and they can take care of themselves but, the kids are helpless and need to have thier best interests considered by the courts because it isn't alwyas done by parents when they are dealing with the emotional strains of divorce.
