It's 3 hours 50 min to get from Roma to Pisa, and the best bet is the train. The train system in Italy is good. I've been to Rome, Venice and Florence (and England, Scotland, France, Norway, Holland and Ireland) and I always use public transport.

I'm so jealous ;) -- have a great time in Rome and Pisa!

Cheers, K

P. S. What TracyB said is right, but if you don't know the countryside, and you don't have a car, just take the train. It's easier, more scenic, and safer -- you don't have to worry about Italian drivers!

The best transport to reach Pisa from Rome is the train, you can also rent a car, but I suggest you the train. You should take three hours!

Where on earth have you been...? - Where do you live...? Did you ever go to school...?

Do you really need to ask a load of strangers on the internet for simple information like that...? Have you never looked at a map of Italy...? Even if you did, would you know which way up it was...?

The two cities are not very far apart and Italy is a 21st Century European country with first-class infrastructure - so the choices of inter-city transport are excellent and therefore exactly the same as they are in the UK, France or Germany, for instance.
