ask HIM, not us.

No, God could never be okay with that, if he was, how could anyone believe in Him? He gave us the power of free will, and that leads to much of our suffering. But also, the Earth isn't perfect, bad things just happen, if it was perfect, people wouldn't want to go or feel the need to go to Heaven, and that is where he is, where he wants his poeple to be. Heaven is home. Also, there is a lesson in every event, god or bad, so maybe it was the only way He could reach you, for you to experience some pain so you will rely on Him to help, to take care of you.
Just some ideas.

Without suffering, what would be the point of anything?
If we could achieve everything we wanted to accomplish without working at it, suffering for it, accomplishment would have no meaning. Everybody would automatically be perfect at everything.
If we never knew a moment’s heartbreak, how could we understand joy? How could we appreciate anything?
There would be no need to learn compassion or empathy if we never suffered or knew about suffering. The most intolerant people I have ever known are those who have never really known hardship.
We would be the spoiled children of God, given everything and appreciating nothing.
God doesn’t believe in spoiling his children. He wants us to mature and accomplish all that we can, while growing in compassion and understanding of others.
He doesn’t cause us to suffer, in fact he has insured that we never have to suffer alone by giving us the constant companionship of his Spirit. But he knows that some of the greatest insights and greatest accomplishments have come from those ho have known suffering.

Please do not equate suffering with sin. Good Christians suffer with various physical disabilities, disease, accidents and tragedies, all sorts of things that are not of their making. You want to say that’s all because of sin, or the wrath of God? No. Of course it’s not. But he knows that even in the worst possible circumstances suffering people are capable of accomplishing things beyond anything they ever imagined. God gives each of us gifts and sometimes these gifts are refined and made more perfect through suffering.

I don't think God is so small minded that he needs US to worship "Him". If God were that petty, then I wouldn't bother worshiping him anyway. But the whole idea of God is too abstract. I like more tangible role models like Jesus and Buddha. They tried to relieve suffering and help people to feel loved and pass that love on to others because Jesus and Buddha KNEW that life was hard from experience. The only way to get through it with any sanity is to love each other with tons of patience, including for ourselves.

God does not like us to suffer. He created us to know Him and love Him. Suffering is caused by our sinful nature. God did not give the suffering. When a person is separated from God, that person does not have the protection of God. Not because God does not love that person. God is a holy God who hates sins. When we sin, each sin blocks our oneness, union or relationship with God. That's why He gave His Son, Jesus, to be the ultimate offering for our sins.
God gave Jesus to be crucified and in His blood, if we make Jesus our Lord and Savior, our sins will covered, Jesus will make us new creature in the eyes of God. Jesus will bridge, via the cross, so we can have a relationship with God. As we study the Bible and learn the ways of God, we will know the promises of God. If we trust in Him and let God direct our paths in life, suffering will not be part of walking with God. It's your deeper relationship with Him that will protect you from suffering.
The only way to get there is a total devotion to Jesus and God. Know His nature, His ways. The Bible, especially the Old Testament, will show you how God operates. God is not a respecter of person, whether believers or not, if they disobey His commands, they will suffer the consequences of their sins. But God cries when we suffer, but He will never tolerate sin, small and big sins are sins to Him just the same.
Until we come to terms with who God really is in our lives, suffering will always come to a person-- it could be mentally, emotionally and physically or death.

I'm a Catholic but I'll try to answer this in the way that I believe, suffering will happen no matter what,we create it ourselves and or it is thrust upon us,innocent or evil.what we do with the process is another matter. In my religion suffering is a part of life which should be offered up for those who are in need.We arent supposed to whine and moan about it,but offer it up to God,that way it is not in vain, but has purpose(like prayer for those in purgatory who can no longer offer up to God their deeds and sacrifice)(part of the souls cleansing to enter the kingdom of Heaven.A good example of this process is Sister/Mother Teresa in India whom through suffering and understanding helped and fed the masses of the poor in India. These small gestures add up to alot whom is need...believe me

God doesnt need our worship
he merely states that we should worship Him and ask for Him to help us and not things like stars, cows, goons like Bush etc.
your question is based on the nature of God and it is assuming that God is like us ...humans. Hes not. Therefore you cannot have a definite answer.

I have chronic pain. Which means I have pain 24/7. I sure don't blame God for that. Infact he comforts me when I need it the most.

God doesn't get happy when people suffer. Logic tells us that suffering is the end result of bad decisions. Not God's fault.
