Since I didn't diagnose you with the flu, I'm hesitant to recommend things that I KNOW will help you (ie: I don't know what your health condition is.). I'm not "coping out" on ya. Tell your doc your goal. If it's not reachable, don't panic. There are other Halloweens, your job will probably understand, and so will your son. The most important thing right now is getting YOU well. In the meantime tell your son that, borrowing anything unforseen, next year will be a "double" Halloween--you'll do everything you can to make up for this year and do your best to see he has a great one next year. He'll probably love you for being honest and will definitely remember it.

If you go to bed now, drink Lot's of fluids and get a lot of rest, you may be weak Tuesday but, it's still going to take time to shake the flu.It just doesn't happen that fast I'm sorry to say and may even make it worse if you don't follow directions. Or see an ER doc or your own, he'll tell you the same thing.
He'll probably run tests to make sure it's not something else like an appendix or infection in the intestine but, he has to be safe.

there's a magnificent homeopathic therapy offered in well being meals shops stated as (are you waiting for this?) Occillococinum. It is available in vials and is made out of tiny candy pellets. My well being care provider instructed me you do not might desire to take an entire vial in line with dose, as suggested on field. you are able to take one million/3 of the vial and it works only as nicely. it works incredibly nicely on the 1st sign of the flu- incredibly crappy feeling with physique aches and head soreness. There are different homeopathic flu cures in well being meals shops that could help in case you have the flu for 2 weeks already. yet do attempt the Occ. as there are not any section efffects and that's secure for infants. solid success.

Good old chicken soup and crackers to the rescue! Also, do not be afraid of taking some over the counter cold meds as it helps with the symptoms! Good luck!

For nausea, 7up with lots of ice and saltine crackers. Eat and sip reeeeeal slow. Nyquil is great for fever because it knocks you out also so when you wake up, your fever has usually broken. Sleep as much as you can.

i would do the chicken soup thing, also drink a ton of water, gatorade. it helps 'flush' out the flu, but in all fairness, as long as your son don't get it, you should be able to go trick or treating, just get some tylenol cold day meds, at any store, and watch you fall in to la la land, but be able to function.

Hi Danielle

Here you go.

Cause
Flu is an advanced cold condition. A body catches flu when it is full of waste matter and toxins through lowered vitality and by body exposure to cold and dampness. This is due to mucus in a weak spot in the body--in this case, the respiratory tract. The contributing factors to this weakness are shallow breathing and a lack of oxygen to that particular area.

Herbal Aids
1.General Instructions: The fastest way in eliminating this body condition is by proper diet and rest, and by flushing the body system with diaphoretics. Take a ginger bath (using up to a pound of ginger to a tub of water), or a mustard-cayenne bath with cold sheeting. The antispasmodic agents relax the constringed cell structure, loosen and discharge the mucoid matter. Fruit juices (especially hot lemon juice) should be taken alternately with the herbal teas. After the cleansing crisis, the body system should be built up with tonic herbs and with nutritious, non-mucus forming foods.

2.Colds, Pneumonia, Flu: See formula using pennyroyal and elder flowers.

3.Peppermint and Elder Flowers: For one of the greatest flu remedies there is, see formula using peppermint and elder flowers.

4.When You Feel the Flu Coming On: Another simple procedure for if you feel a cold or flu coming on in the evening, use boneset tea. This herb is a nervine stimulant, tonic, diaphoretic, diuretic, and in large doses, emetic, aperient. Here is another wonderful remedy for breaking a chill in intermittent fever (so-called break-bone fever), muscular rheumatism, bronchitis, influenza, dyspepsia, sore throat, etc.

5.Dr. Christopher's Composition Powder: As Dr. Nowell, our instructor at the Dominion Herbal College, Let. of Vancouver, British Columbia gave in our textbook, quote: "We have made and used composition powder for over forty years. When we state we regularly mixed it in batches of sixty pounds the student will readily see that we have had at least some experience with it. As a remedy in colds, beginning of fevers, flu, hoarseness, sluggish circulation, colic, cramps, etc. We believe it has done more good than any other single preparation ever known to man."

6.Dr. Christopher's Anti-Infection formula:composed of plantain, black walnut, golden seal root, bugle weed, marshmallow root, and lobelia is great for the cleansing of the lymph system as well as purifying the blood and fighting infection.

7.Lemon Juice: The symptoms of flu may be relieved by drinking lemon juice in warm water several times daily.

8.Ginger: Ginger tea is often given in cases of colds and flu. It will produce perspiration and increase circulation, thus helping to speed the removal of toxins from the body. A favorite treatment in colds, flu and bronchitis is the Ginger bath. Simply add three tablespoonfuls of the grated root powder to a tubful of hot water. Let the person soak in the tub, adding hot water occasionally to keep the tubful good and hot. Give sips of diaphoretic teas during this soak (camomile is pleasant and well-accepted by most sick people). Be sure to coat the genitals which will be immersed with Vaseline or any other non-penetrating coating so that the herbs will not irritate them. You can add cayenne, mustard or other rubefacient herbs to this soak. It relaxes the body as well as opening the pores and stimulating elimination. By all means keep the patient warm after this soak. Put him into warm, clean cotton under clothes and bedclothes and put him to bed. Ginger baths are well-accepted even by children.

Testimonials
1.Overnight Recovery for Flu: If the array of so-called remedies of orthodox medicine were any good, there would be no sick left. How different is this to the simple methods of the old-time herbalist. He saw a patient who was fevered. He did not even take the temperature. Often he did not know what a clinical thermometer was. But he knew there was fever. He placed a handful of yarrows in a jug, poured a pint of boiling water over it, and after allowing it to stand a few minutes, gave the tea to the patient as warm as it could be drunk. The result was a free perspiration. Congestions were removed; the circulation was equalized. The patient-treatment was easy, the results were sure and the remedy was safe, simple and natural. We know as we write this that yarrows is just the same today as it was a thousand years ago.

Best of health to you

Cheers
