i'm a white female and my boyfriend is black. my parents have always had a problem with me dating a black guy but i am in love. they keep trying to interfere, tell me i'm wasting my time and he's no good and they treat him badly. i try to explain that i am in love with him but they don't listen. and now the real bad part is he got put in jail and now they keep saying "i told you so". how can i handle this? what should i tell them? my boyfriend will be stuck in jail for about 30 months and i want to wait for him but i'm afraid my parents will really cause problems. any advice 4 me?

Dating some one either black or white that is in jail and will be there for 30 months and you still live with your parents so this tells me you are somewhat young. Girl move on, you should not be waiting on someone who is making such poor choices. Your parents are probably correct. I don't care if he is black or white he is making poor choices and your parents want what is best for you and getting tied up with someone who is in and out of trouble is not the way to get anywhere in life. Find someone new. Good luck and God bless, And leave the thug boys alone, there are plenty of goal orientated young black men in this world.

Well tell ur parents that if they can;t except ur boyfriend then they can't except u and don't talk to them for a while give them the cold shoulder I know it might be hard for u to do but if u really love im that is what u have to do. Don't talk to them if u don't have to say good morning and goon night and let that be it. Don't spend more time when them then u have to! Just keep ur distance if u can!

Never date a jailbird. It could be that your parents don't have a problem with his race. They may have seen something in him that you couldn't. It sucks to hear I told you so. I would never wait for a guy in jail. The way I figure it is if he loved you he would not have put you in a position where you have to put your life on hold.

as a black woman i would NEVER EVER wait for a guy in jail. i hate to say this but i think your parents were right.not that you shouldn't date black men , but this guy is no good for you. you need to move the **** on! are you that blinded by love? he is displaying the stereotypical behavior that most white people think of black men. you shouldn't lower your self and date someone who is getting thrown in jail. i understand your attraction to black men but find one who is respectable enough not to do dumb **** and get thrown in jail. honey there are better black men out there!

If you are old enough and mature enough, you should be able to date whoever you want. They cannot stop you from loving someone. Prove to them that your boyfriend will be a good man. If you find nothing in him that you think your parents have no approval of, move on. There are more than one guy out there. Good luck!

Tell your boyfriend to give you a call when he's out of jail in 2 years. If you're still single, you can start over with him if you want. But meanwhile, live your life and enjoy it. Consider yourself single until he's out.

You should listen to your parents. They have your best interest at heart. They were right about him after all. You are a fool for even wanting someone going to jail.

Not to much you can do there. It's either go for it and lose your family, or lose him and keep your family.
