The word of God says he made man in his own image. I'm not sure if humans are physically like God but i believe love and sacrifice are character traits of God and he instilled them into human characteristics.

Just like the sin sacrifices in the old testament, when animals were sacrificed for the forgiveness of sins. Well we as humans couldn't (cant)save ourselves, not even with good deeds. That's why God sent his only son, to die for our sins. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. no more animal sacrifices. So these feelings aren't new they were instilled in us from the creator from the beginning.
Everyone knows john 3:16 For God so love the world he gave his only begotten son, that so whoever believes in him should not perish but ever lasting life.

The question is what are you going to do with this truth?

Because as the Bible would say God sacrificed his only son. I do not believe I would be capable of that. But I have made many sacrifices in my life that will never add up to what God gave us. We are human and we, as good people, give alot of ourselves. Sometimes it is very difficult and depressing but it gives us hope that things will be better in the long run. I hope this answers your question. I answered in the best way I could.

I think in the first place one must believe in Jesus, and to believe in Jesus is to believe in God. It does mention in the Bible we're created in the complete image of God. So God loved us so much that he gave his only begotten son. It is mentioned also in all four gospels that Jesus said Love your neighbor as you love me. I think it was the sermon on the mount where he mentions as you treat others you treat me. If your neighbor asks for a loft of bread give him 20. I can't recall exact wording or in which books in the new testament's it's said. But Jesus does say love your neighbor and forgive your enemy as I have forgiven you. Jesus also mentions to suffer as I have suffered for you. I call that sacrifice. Again I can't recall exact verse....but it's there. In John,Matthew,Luke and Mark.

Jesus loved us so much, that He died on the cross for us! Now what can we do for Him?I don't mean sacrifice our life, there are other nice things we can do. Try to obey the commandments. Give to the poor, be kind to one another, etc.
