i am going to be a Boy for halloween and i don't really know what to do for my hair...
i was thinking maybe a hat...
i am open to any ideas....

Well, it depends on what kind of "boy" you're going for. A teenager would look fine in a hat; however a man in a business suit would look stupid in a baseball cap. And what about your own hair; is it long or short? If it's short then you haven't really got a problem, if it's long then you'll either need a wig that you can put your hair up in, a bald cap, or a hat.

For a start, how long is your hair? Is it all one length?
If it's layered or you have a fringe (bangs), you could do an Elvis quiff in front, comb the rest back behind your ears and fasten with a rubber band or hairpins or clips that match your hair color. (Don't forget to paint sideburns in front of your ears!)
If it's longer, do a side part and then pull it all back behind your ears into a ponytail at the base of your neck which you could then "tuck" into the collar of your shirt (to hide it).
You could also leave it long and loose, buy a fake moustache or a moustache/goatee and look like a hippy (or a biker or Jesus, depending on your train of thought!)
In any case, make sure you have gel handy to smooth it down on the sides or to get the height (and stiffness) in the front.
You could twist it up in a sort of French twist and plop a hat or baseball cap over it. But what if someone grabs your cap? Will your cover be blown?

Get a wig.
You can get a great looking simple one for $5-10, or a fancy one for $50-100. A saw a few Marie Antoinette wigs on ebay for $30+shipping.
You can actually start collecting wigs and never have this problem again.

Hmm you could buy a dude wig, or just wear a hat, or cut your hair short if you have the guts

be an 80 rocker band boy freez your long hair out. and dress like the boys did when it was the 80s.

Just get a wig and cut it however, you want. That way you don't damage or have to regret doing anything permanent to your hair the next day.

Lots of gel, make it very spikey like you have seen a ghost and it's standing on end like in the cartoons

I slicked mine back and wore a baseball cap.
Put a fake beard (short) and thicker eyebrows.
Borrowed a friends work boots and wore my "keds" inside them.
