Hi there, I have a Bush 28" tv and I have switched it on tonight to find it has a green/ purple tinge to the bottom couple of inches of the screen.
I have checked my receipt and would you believe it is out by 2months!!
Any help would be appreciated.

other engineer got it right, magnets cause it , theres some in kiddies toys so watch what they put near screen, if nothings near it tv should degausse itself from cold so knock off standby overnight and it should clear in morning, and another answer says house insurance, no chance there unless its damaged it dont cover normal breakdowns

Hi there. The green/purple tinge is usually because a magnet source has been placed close to the screen of the tv ( and may still be there!). The most common magnetic source is a speaker for surround sound. If there is no magnetic source near the tv, it needs to be "de-gaused" and you can usually buy a de-gausing kit from places like Maplins

Just rearrange your speakers and your telephone as these are most of the times the reasons for those sensations. If your television is not near any of those sources I would get a degausing Kit from currys, bennets or maplin for example.

Hope that helps

Contact the company you purchased it from as they may still be willing to help you.
I had roughly the same problem as you and was lucky the customer service people were very helpfull.
Also check with trading standards if they will not help you as I'm sure the sales of goods act may cover you.
