what words in the scottish slang do you think are just great and if you aint from scotland can you understand the dialect?

no, even though I come from a scottish background I can't understand the slang or a lot of the dialect...but I could listen to Annie Lennox talk all day...

Birl meaning to spin or turn
Cowp meaning to tip over or to describe a mess (This rooms a cowp)
Fandan meaning idiot or fool
Champ meaning to mash up (Champed Tatties = Mashed Potato)
Rummle meaning to shake up or disturb
Bunnit meaning Bonnet or Flat Cap
Tan meaning to hit (Ah'll tan yir hide = I'll smack your bottom)
There's 100's of words, so many in my brain jostling for release that I can't get any more out!

I love the scots accent - though I do struggle a bit with the glaswegians coz they speak so fast. I love the word Bairn xx

I like the word for a heelander which is chucter but I'm no sure how it's spelt. I've also heard of plamfing which is taking pleasure in the smell of ones fart.

My daughter loves Scottish accents! My sister's boyf is Scottish and he said something really simple to her one day. She came out and said "Stevie said something to me, it wasn't in English though." Hahahaha
