Ok when u move nests the parents have to make sure its theirs. First move it back where it was and take off the materials off it but maybe their trying to add to their nest. Take it off and see if they put it back on them if they do, try to arrange it inside the nest. email me at leocats93@yahoo.com if u have any more info. try to keep them in a warm spot and anytime u move a nest they dont like it because their used to their old spot thats how my birds are lol. ok good luck.

It's not good to move birdcages when they have babies. I would move the cage back, but not touch the nest, because if you do it will leave your scent on the nest and the babies. Birdy parents identify their young by smell, so don't touch them or the nest. This will make it less likely for the parents to go back to the nest. Just move the cage back, leave the nest alone, and put them under the heating lamp, just make sure they don't get too hot.

I am not certain but it sounds like they are trying to keep the young ones warm (insulation materials).

You should check with a pet shop or vet about it. If it is so then you may want to get a warm light bulb to place in the vicinity (not too warm though).

all mother animals have the maternal instinct to protect their young and by moving them from the window, the mother birds are frightened they they are not in the same place and their babies aren't safe. also, the window was providing sunlight and warmth from the sun and the drop in temperature could also explain them covering up the babies. please move them back where they were or they may die.

I suggest you move them back to the window. moving animals to different locations can really mess them up. if this is not possible then get/borrow/rent?? a heating lamp or incubater. this should work
