Yes, your 2005 barrel should fit a 1980 shotgun. There is one major consideration, and that is barrel chamber length. A 3" chamber barrel will fit a 3" receiver. A 3.5" chamber barrel will not fit a 3" receiver, nor will a 3" chamber barrel fit a 3.5" receiver. Fortunately, you do not have to worry about fitting a standard barrel to a "Light Contour" receiver!

If your talking about a Remington 12 gage model 870.Yes it should,just unscrew the nut by the pump take the old barrel off and put the other 1 on. Have any problems E-mail me I'll talk you through it
