A few days ago, I felt like my left eye had something in it. It felt really itchy and I couldnt stop rubbing at it. I tried washing it but nothing happened. I also noticed a slight runny nose but I wasnt sure if it was linked with my eye problem. I had the same problem today, in the same eye.
It is something to do with allergies. If it is, how can it just affect one eye and not the other?

Yes it can have something to do with allergies. Yes it can affect only one eye. It could also be the beginning of a virus, a cold.
Even though you look bilaterally symmetrical, (a mirror image of yourself down the middle,) you are not perfectly identical on each side. So one side of you can react, respond, or hurt, while the other side does not.
Diphenhydramine, (brand name Benedryl) may help you. It is cheap. Try it in the evening when you sleep. It will make you drowsy.

You should go and see an eye doctor ASAP. When I was 6 the same thing happened to me it lasted for about a month, about two months later it came back but this time there was lots of pressure and pain and my eye was red. About a week later my mom took me to the eye doctor and he told me I had Chronic Iritis, I am now blind out of that eye and they havn't yet come up with a cure for it. The illness strangled my optic nerve thus causeing me to go blind. I don't want to alarm you or anything, and it might turn out to be nothing at all threatning. But you really should go in to see a doctor just to make sure, its better to spend a little time at the doctors and find out its nothing then to wait it out and maybe go blind.

my one eye gets itchy if i dont sleep enough.
You might have a sty. A small white bump under your eyelid. I dont know if you are male or female, but putting eyeliner on the inside rim of your eye can cause stys.
or maybe you have a very fine peice of fuzz in there. Do you have a cat or dog? their under coat is a biotch to get out of your eye.

Allergies do strange things to people. I had that one time and I took some Benedryl or however you spell that. It did me some good! And don't rub it!

Watch out, man, go to your doc, you may have conjunctivitis or slightly worse (coz it takes longer to get rid of), keratitis.
GO TO YOUR DOC. first thing in the morning. and DONT TOUCH your eyes! You might spread the infection (if any) to the OTHER eye!

You either got a sty or overusing e-net. In case you're a Christian, then why don't you try and read the Gospel? They say it helps.
