All you have to do is look at the treatment of the indigenous people in Mexico, Guatemala, and Venezuala to see the descrimination that persists to this day. Groups like the Zapatista's in Mexico, which consist mostly of indigenous people, still work to gain equality for the people in their state of Chiapas.
