Ok I think you need to go back to where you had this done and make a complaint especially since your hair extensions are involved. If you had your had done there the time you really liked it then the person should have known what you wanted if you explained yourself correctly. I do not know what they can do for you now except try to strip the color out which is very hard on the hair.I think you can buy special shampoos from a salon supply store like Sally's if you have those that might help to lighten your hair. I really would suggest you try coloring your hair at home. They have great products with color retention and special conditioner packs with the color to help maintain your color. I would be a lot cheaper and is not hard unless you have really long hair.It may take you a few tries to find the perfect color but it would cost you $12 bucks instead of $130.00.

You need to determine what your undertones are, and that will help you choose the right color. Ashy toned hair looks better on people with cool undertones, while golden toned hair looks better on people with warm undertones. Redheads(ONLY natural) usually have warm undertones, despite the fact that most people think only those with darker skin have them.

That website above will REALLY help you when deciding. Think about the colors you wear, your make up, and if you still can't decide, then do the mirror test where you hold fabrics up to your face. You can even ask a friend to help you.

As far as coloring your hair: Go to a beauty supply store, like Ulta or Sally Beauty. Depending on the levels your lightening, choose your peroxide developer (usually 10, 20, 30, maybe 40. The numbers are the percentage of peroxide in the mixture. If you're not bleaching, and going darker, you should be ok with 10. They'll help you more with this in the store!) And choose your color. I use wella USA, but most of the toners there should be okay. (Like Clairol, etc.) They're ALL professional, and they have undertones listed on them. DO NOT BUY THE BOX PRODUCTS. They have a general HIGH peroxide level that can be used on anyone who is lightening or darkening their hair.

It's MUCH better, and also cheaper to go to the beauty store...What i usually do is find my current hair color on the chart, and then find the color i'd like to go to. There are also neutral colors, though the selection is much more limited, that have NEITHER warm nor cool undertones, incase you're not sure.

Keep in mind what your current undertones are now - If you want golden, but you're already a little golden, doing your hair a color with golden tones will make it MORE golden. Same goes for ashy...You should aso check out the color wheel! It will help you A LOT to understand how a toner with a blue/violet(cool) base (thats the base you need to combat "orangey" (warm) hair) combats the warm tones in your hair.

In any case, ask them there, and they will help. Just so you know, I'm fairly lgiht (though not nearly porcelin skinned), I tan in the winter, I have natural blonde hair, but I have cool tones. :)

And! - Some people can look good wih both, but there IS ONE that will look better than the other. It just means neither will look awful. The difference may not be to obvious!

Just a helpful note, if you do fine yourself with orangey hair (like i often do, lightening my hair from browns to blondes again, esp. with the colder weather), and you need to get rid of that orange color, check our clairols shimmer lights. It's an amazing SHAMPOO that you leave in in the shower and can use as often as you want...BTW - it's purple!

I hope that helped. :) Goodluck!

A darker brown on pale skin could possibly give you a washed out tired look if you don't have the right skin pigments within your skin.

Ashy brown hair should be fine with pale skin, But everyone is different.
Try honey tones, caramels, light browns, dark blonde? ash blonde?

People usually have yellow or pink pigments in their skin,
Hold up yellow and pink cardboard to either side of your face, which ever side looks more healthier is your skin pigment.
If you feel that daker brown it is too dark, or you seem to be more pale, get some light brown highlights around your face, or use Johnsons holiday skin face lotion, This doesn't go orange or dark and will give you a fresh looking sun kissed face.

Personally...I think pale skin goes get with vibrant red matrix hair especially with supercurls. Definitely not anything that makes you look like the walking dead. Whatever coloring you do-I recommend the first treatment be by a professional color specialist.

I think this is a hard call. It is really hard to know what is going to flatter you without seeing you. Perhaps go to a wig store try on various shades, see what shade is the most flattering; take a mental note, and then if you do it you self look for that shade on hair color dye. My favorite is Feria, it tends to look the most professionally done.

a darker color would make you look pasty. try a reddish shade. it would even out the pale skin, and bring color to your face. it would be better if you highlight the red with some blonde streaks. you'll look radiant! works best if you have green eyes, but if you have blue eyes, try going for a brownish red with a silvery highlight. however, there are colored contact lenses as a cheaper solution :) good luck!

if you're pale, the ash tone will make you look more pale. more natural, but more pale and gentle. if you go with the deeper brown (and you're pale), you might look "vampirish"...
but it also depends on your eye color. for darker eyes pick deeper colors, if you want a natural look.

Probably a deeper brown. Or a light blonde would look cute. That'd look really cute! :)
